5 out of 5 eggsFixed issues with stock cable

This review is from: StarTech MDP2DPMM6 6 ft Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort 1.2 Adapter Cable M/M - DisplayPort 4k with HBR2 support - 6 feet Mini DP to DP Cable

Pros: Got cable today to replace the cable that came with my Acer B286HK 4K monitor.
The cable that came with it caused odd lines to occasionally pop up, noise, and occasional black screens.

This immediately fixed all of those issues.

Cons: Isn't made out of pure 24k gold and lined with diamonds.
(none)

Other Thoughts: It works well, certified by DisplayPort.
Good quality at first appearance and shipped quickly.

I will update this review if something happens along the way.
I'd imagine the people that have issues with this are the ones who are moving it a lot and putting a lot of stress on the cable, which is never a good idea for something that is not meant to move much.

5 out of 5 eggsWorking Display Port to Mini Display Port

This review is from: StarTech MDP2DPMM6 6 ft Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort 1.2 Adapter Cable M/M - DisplayPort 4k with HBR2 support - 6 feet Mini DP to DP Cable

Pros: The wire is pretty light, and simple for its purpose. The build quality seems pretty solid too.

Cons: It's a little shorter than I imagined, but it gets the job done perfectly fine. It's thiner than I imagined, but that's fine as well.

Other Thoughts: I was wondering if it would work as a Display Port to Mini Display Port (Graphics card to iMac in target display mode) and I'm happy to inform you it does! Buy it if you need this.

5 out of 5 eggscable works

This review is from: StarTech MDP2DPMM6 6 ft Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort 1.2 Adapter Cable M/M - DisplayPort 4k with HBR2 support - 6 feet Mini DP to DP Cable

Pros: it works, 144mhz really helps fps gaming, DP cable promo week, free shipping took 1 day

Cons: dislike locking connector design, which is an issue with VESA/DP standard not newegg or cable manufacturer.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat customer support

This review is from: StarTech MDP2DPMM6 6 ft Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort 1.2 Adapter Cable M/M - DisplayPort 4k with HBR2 support - 6 feet Mini DP to DP Cable

Pros: It's a cable, its not a common configuration, it's cheap, it works. Not much to say there. I purchased a number of these for the office and they've all been great, had one stop working mysteriously after around 9-10 months. Customer support was quick and easy through startech. It's not super fast but it's a $9 cable so whatever. 5 rating for the customer service, more companies should follow this example.

Cons: one of maybe 10 cables stopped working after 9-10 months.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes it's job well.

This review is from: StarTech MDP2DPMM6 6 ft Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort 1.2 Adapter Cable M/M - DisplayPort 4k with HBR2 support - 6 feet Mini DP to DP Cable

Pros: The cable does what it's meant to do, and does it well. It's nice and sturdy. Good insulation. Good connections, don't wobble/aren't loose.

Cons: None really. The clip on the regular, full-size DisplayPort connection is a little bit of a pain to unplug from my monitor, with where it is. But that's not a bit deal, I just leave it plugged in and unplug the mini DisplayPort end when need-be. Pretty sure this cable was designed to be used that way, anyways.

Other Thoughts: It's a good cable, and cheap. Get it, you won't be dissappointed.

I use it from my Dell XPS 14 to display 2,560 x 1,440 on my Dell Ultrasharp U2711. Running Linux Mint 14, if that matters to anyone.
