1 out of 5 eggsStarTech USB2DVIE2 Install Win7

Pros: Not sure? I cannot get it working?

It only works some of the times and their driver installation is NOT easy.

Cons: For such an expensive adapter it should have installed easy in Win7. I could it working with the install CD. Tech support told me to download new driver application. Worked after many attempts then stopped working.
Notified Tech Support again and they told me to update my Win7. Why should it stop working? I upgraded Win7 and still cannot get it to work.
Win7 Device Manager shows their adapter but get an error code saying it was NOT configured properly and I should update the driver.
I cannot find their driver to update? Their Trigger driver application installs the driver automatically and does NOT let you know where they HIDE it at?
I am still working with their Tech Support department via Email and it is FRUSTRATING.
I am looking at the Pluggable product now and going to GIVE UP on StarTech.

Other Thoughts: I am looking at other adapters for my All in One.

1 out of 5 eggsNot compatible with Windows XP

Pros: Works with Windows Vista and 7

Cons: Not compatible with Windows XP

Other Thoughts: Confirmed with Startech customer support that there is no support for XP, after a lot of back-and-forth. They are aware that they don't list system requirements, and do not want to change. They claim it is an issue with XP, yet other adapter brands are some how able to manage.

For what it's worth, the drivers included with the box work better on XP than the ones on the website. However, you'll have to restart your computer every time you unlock it or bring it back from a sleeping state, in order to get your 2nd monitor back.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Product

Pros: Easy to use & Install

Now with Windows 8 Support from the website

Very good customer support

Product itself is well built

Cons: Maximum supported size is 1680 x 1050, it would have been nice for 1080P support which is found on the more expensive USB 3.0 version

Other Thoughts: These are not for display video or moving scenes, expect flickering or tearing.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks great for multi diaplays

Pros: Price isn't bad, specially for what I ended up paying for the 3 that I have. Supports multiple wide screen and stand screen aspect ratios, easy to install, even worked for my Windows XP 64 bit edition workstation.

Cons: You can DEFINATLEY tell the difference in refresh and response times on the monitors I have conencted to them compared to the response time I have my other 2 monitor connected to running off a 8800GTS. I don't use this system for gaming so it's not that big of a deal but this works great for someone wanting to add a second, thrid, or more monitors to a computer with only 1 VGA/DVI output.
When I reboot my computer, I have to reconfigure my monitor order. I have not figured out how to save the display order, and sometimes I have to re-activate the monitors through the software provided with the device. That's about the worse thing I can say about them.

Other Thoughts: I got such a good deal on the three I have that I figured I couldn't got wrong. (got them for $15 each from a local store going out of business) so I doubt anyone could find them for less than what Newegg sells them for.

I'm running a total of 5 monitors off my main workstation, 2x 20" WS LED/LCDs. 2x 21.5" WS LCDs, and 1 19" 4:3 as a control monitor for cmd prompt, nero, grabit, and other utilites. I have the 4x WS LCD's on a quad stand and it looks AMAZING!!! I love the 5 displays at once. I was shooting for just a quad setup, but ended up with a 3rd device and already had the monitor. My entire setup (mainly because I got such great deals from that local store going out of business) ended up costing about $450 including all for monitors, the stand, 3 of these devices, and 2x VESAconversion plated for the 20" LED monitors (which I bought on newegg's Black Friday sale) My 3.0GHz Core2Quad and 8GB's of DDR2 1066MHz RAM powers all 5 monitors without issue!!!!!

3 out of 5 eggsWorks Well Just NOT with TradeStation

Pros: It works well. It extended the computer screen. It does what it's supposed to do

Cons: It DOES NOT work with Tradestation. There is an error conflict with a .dll

4 out of 5 eggsIt Works!

Pros: Inexpensive, has the 16mb on board video memory. Supports portrait mode. Use it for a 3rd monitor to run a 19" Dell that rotates. Saved a monitor from being donated to put in service!

Cons: You can see lag action when you drag windows across this screen. We're talking milliseconds so it's not pleasing to the eye but definitely is NOT detrimental for work use as a third monitor (or even second). Opening and closing windows, you can tell it's not a dedicated card but it's definitely OK!

Other Thoughts: Pricing is good for this model. I guess Startech has "pro" version that supports Win 7 Aero. Maybe that will fix the millisecond lag action I mentioned above.
