The DP2MDPMF6IN DisplayPort to Mini DisplayPort Adapter turns a mini DisplayPort (male) connector into a regular DisplayPort (male) connector, making it easy to connect a mini DisplayPort-equipped monitor to a laptop that only provides a standard DisplayPort output (e.g. Apple, Toshiba etc.). Molded latching connector secures the cable against accidental disconnection.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks perfectly

Pros: Works perfectly.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Using with Apple 30" Cinema Displays attached to Lenovo T4(1,2,3)0 docks. Using the apple mini display port to Dual link DVI adapters that we have laying around from all the Apple users that have replaced their 30" with the new Thunderbolt 27".

5 out of 5 eggsgreat adapter

Pros: Bought this to connect my Lenovo w520 laptop (which got a regular display port) to my 27 cinema display. Works perfectly, got full 2650*1440 resolution, and audio is also pumped through the cable and working on the display.

Build quality is better than how it looks like from the picture, it also has a cap on the male side.

Cons: really none as long as it keeps working

5 out of 5 eggsWorks

Pros: It works. I have a flashed XFX 5770 ZHFC in a Mac Pro 3,1, and this adapter works with a 27" Apple Cinema Display.

Cons: $16.99 seems a bit high for a passive video adapter, but it's really the only option.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks with hmdpsdvieye

Pros: Works as described connected to a hmdpsdvieye adapter to add a 3rd eyefinity monitor and it worked. Needed an active adapter for eyefinity accidentally ordered a MiniDP and not a DP adapter so put this adapter on the adapter and it worked luckily.

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggsIt just works

Pros: Plug it in, it works.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I used this to connect a gaming PC to my 2009 27" iMac in Target Display Mode, so I could use the screen. Worked like a charm.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks 100%!

Pros: Price is the best. For 10 bucks you cannot go wrong. Now my Apple 24' LED cinema works on my Sandy Bridge Hackintosh.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Could be a bit longer, but it's not rant just "other thought".

5 out of 5 eggsWorks for PC to Apple display

Pros: Works with PC hardware for whatever operating system including Hackintosh with Gigabyte ATI 5770 on 24" LED Cinema Display.

Cons: Hard to find, it was briefly out of stock, and shipped separately from the other items in my order (none of these are really a con).

Other Thoughts: The Apple display has a very short cord, so you may also need a mini-displayport extension cable.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks with Apple Cinema Display

Pros: I bought this to build a hackintosh capable of driving my 24" Apple Cinema Display. It works using the Palit GTX 470, purchased at NewEgg. The cord is short, so it doesn't get in the way, but not longer to add to any tangle. Doesn't seem fragile.

Cons: None in my use case, but I couldn't test some possible scenarios (see below).

Other Thoughts: In researching DisplayPort to mini DisplayPort solutions, I found a similar product on another website, but the user reviews over there said that it would not work with ATi Radeon 57xx or 58xx (and presumably 59xx) cards. I don't have a Radeon, so I cannot confirm or deny compatibility. Buyer beware. I also did not test audio over DisplayPort.
