1 out of 5 eggsGarbage!

Pros: None

Cons: Worked for about a month, then the images started getting dim, followed by the loss of all red and blue colors on one of the outputs. I barely moved the thing around and it's doing stuff like this, imagine if you used it on the go.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat quality product!

Pros: I just received this VGA splitter. I read some reviews that said that it would cause degraded images on the split screen. I have not noticed a significant degradation of the image. Works great for me.

Cons: None at the moment.

2 out of 5 eggsNOT RECOMMENDED!

Pros: Splits Video from 1 input to 2 outputs.

Cons: Ghosting, and image distorted.

Other Thoughts: I needed this for a CCTV installation to split 1 VGA signal into 2 separate signals for monitors in 2 locations. The first monitor was only a few feet away which worked well. The second monitor was a 35' run to a different office which had terrible ghosting. When both monitors were hooked up, the main monitor that was a few feet away got very dim.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes what it should

Pros: Splits a single VGA signal to two monitors. High quality construction; SUPER well made.

Cons: The signal's brightness is decreased slightly for each display you send the image to. This is a passive adapter, though, so it is to be expected.

Other Thoughts: Using this to split the VGA signal from a CCTV camera system monitor. The output signal is already only OK quality, so a passive adapter is fine for this purpose. Be sure to turn the brightness up as high as it goes on your displays for best results.

1 out of 5 eggsVGA splitter cable

Pros: I don't see any pros with this item.

Cons: This item is ruggedly made, but that is as far as its virtues can be said to go. It causes ghosting the second both outputs are plugged in, leaving a massive drop in quality and the user pulling hair. I do not suggest purchasing this product other than as a very expensive single short extension VGA cable.

Other Thoughts: I bought this product to place a duplicate image on my television from my computer... What followed left me extremely displeased. The product does indeed split VGA video, but at a high cost of video quality, causing a second, 'ghost', image to be displayed several pixels offset from the standard displayed image. If you want a duplicate image on a second screen with no regard for wuality, this is the product for you. If you are as I am, and don't have any desire to do anything unless you're going to do it right, buy a powered splitter. It's worth the extra $15 or $20.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes what I needed at 19x12

Pros: Sends 1900x1200 output to LCD through KVM, plus second signal to a second LCD display.
Sends back DDC / EDID.
Connects all pins including power pin.
Reasonable image quality: low noise, low distortion

Cons: Lowers the brightness / intensity by half, though I suppose that can't be helped when splitting an analog signal such as VGA.

Other Thoughts: I have a laptop with an Intel IGP connected to a KVM. Previously, it kept switching back to the internal display. It needs all of the pins connected (including the originally-blank power pin), and needs the DDC/EDID signal to recognize that a monitor is connected. Using this device, I was able to connect one output to the KVM, and another to a monitor input. Now, the laptop doesn't forget that it's connected to the KVM monitor, and I don't have to swap cables back and forth.
With an open-ended cable connected to one output, ghosting is horrible. But with either only one cable connected to the device, or both outputs connected to monitors, ghosting is not a problem. Output is dim, but not so bad that adjusting brightness can't overcome it.
