5 out of 5 eggsso far it has been great

Pros: i been waiting close to year for some company to make this kind of interface. i use it on 1.8" SSD save me money from having to buy the 3.5"version. anyway it simplicity is what makes it great and I think paying $10 for the adapter instead of an extra $100 make a lot of difference when you want to use SSD, you also use it in between an USB to SATA adapter with and w/o case

Cons: non whatsoever

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Adapters

Pros: Bought two and connect to my small Samsung 128GB SSD and it runs smoothly. Buying more soon!

Cons: none so far

Other Thoughts: Wish they make an Micro sata to sata 2.5 casing so I can mount it in my laptop. Other bad reviews of this product may have some defected adapters.

1 out of 5 eggsNOT COMPATIBLE

Pros: I'm sure it works perfectly for some models.

Cons: Does not fit on my Samsung SN-208.

Other Thoughts: Make sure it will fit or you will waste time and money.

2 out of 5 eggsNot for SSD

Pros: Adapter size

Cons: Not a good mechanical connection. Could not keep enough power to the SSD when doing installs or heavy transfer rates

Other Thoughts: Seemed like it should have been a good product, but didn't work for the crucial 1.8" SSD. The only way I could keep this working was to apply enough pressure to keep the adapter at ~30 degree angle to the drive. Only then would it work with out causing power issues in the SSD. Ended up switching the 1.8" SSD for a 2.5" and issue was solved.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks fine. Pinouts for testing provided below.

Pros: Works fine on a Kingston 1.8 128GB SSD, was hesitant at first reading the bad reviews. Checked with voltmeter first, it does give separate 3.3v and 5v on the correct micro SATA pins.

Cons: These reviews.

Other Thoughts: Look at the female end with the wider power section and KEY going to the left. Pin 1 (P1) is the right pin, and Pin 9 is the left pin (2nd after the key/notch, very last one)

MicroSATA Pinout
P1 V33 3.3 V Power

P3 GND
P4 GND
P5 V5 5 V Power, Pre-charge4
P6 V5 5 V Power4

Hook up a DVM, and test yours if you are worried about frying something. Either test for voltage - hooking to a regular SATA on the other end), or proper SATA pin to MicroSATA pin continuity.

Regular SATA Pinout (P1 is near the key, P15 is at the other end)

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This adapter is for 1.8" (Micro SATA) drives to connect to a standard 2.5"/3.5" (SATA) connector. The power connector on smaller 1.8" drives is physically different and uses 3.3V as opposed to 5V.

Cons: If you do not understand this is *NOT* a Slimline SATA Adapter. This is a MICRO SATA Adapter. The two are different.

Other Thoughts: As long as you know what you are looking for you will be fine. The one reviewer did not know what "Micro SATA" means and is not Slimline. The one we purchased, different vendor, is working fine.

1 out of 5 eggsIncompatibility Warning

Pros: none

Cons: There is no picture of the back of this accessory but if you could see it, you could see that the power side on the back side will not fit slim dvd drives. I purchased a dvd drive - the SN-S083 and it will not fit. My advice is to search online for a picture of the back and verify it matches the shape of your slim drive's power connector.

1 out of 5 eggsDanger!!!!

Pros: nothing good to write

Cons: Do not connect this to your drives they use just 3 wires to connect the male to the female end on the power adaptor. bOUGHT 2 of these and the end result was 2 dead $500 drives.

Other Thoughts: totaly unsafe. The adaptor shorted internaly on the standard end frying the drives
