3 out of 5 eggspoorly made 4pin molex connectors

Pros: - good for tight fitting spaces where normal connectors where normal modular cables would not be flexible enough
- just barely good enough

Cons: - poorly made molex 4 pin connectors

Other Thoughts: The SATA side is fine as they are pre-manufactured. The 4 pin molex connectors look poorly crimped making the fit uneven and wondering about arcing. I bought 3 of them at the same time, they all look shoddy on this side.

2 out of 5 eggsSpend on better adapters

Pros: The molex end works as it should, but....

Cons: These things look cheap, and by cheap I mean the Sata side (wires) aren't stable enough to connect to female side.
They just move, and it's difficult to joined them together, I purchased 3 of these and one did worked, but slightly snugged connection it never snapped in.

Other Thoughts: I should have gone with the moe expensive type made by SilverStone.

5 out of 5 eggsGood adapter

Pros: I tried a different molex to sata power adapter and it sucked, so I bought this one when I needed another. It's MUCH better, the molex pins actually fit which is all it really needs to do to work. It might be a buck more than a competitor's cable but I'll pay that to save myself a pain.

Cons: Won't make popcorn for me when I'm watching a movie.

1 out of 5 eggsShips wired wrong, don't risk your drives!

Pros: Looks nice

Cons: Wired Incorrectly, does not work, bought two of these to hook up 4 2tb drives, These cables could have fried all my drives at once! Don't risk it, these are terrible. I need to get a refund.

Manufacturer Response:

The wiring on the CVT425 is correct. If you feel that you received one with the wrong wiring, you can contact Apevia's customer service at service@apevia.com or call at (909) 718-0789. We try to reply to all calls and e-mails as soon as we can.

1 out of 5 eggsPoorly made

Pros: NONE. It was DOA. Would not power any of my SATA devices.

Cons: Wired incorrectly.

Other Thoughts: I bought this to add on to my current power supply which only has 3 SATA power connectors and 4 molex connectors. Thought this would be an easy solution. After inspection I noticed that the current was wrong. Looked closer to the cable and discovered that it had been wired incorrectly. Not worth the money to RMA the cable. I will buy my cables locally from now on.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes the job!

Pros: Nice sleeving on the cables which matches my PSU and provides additional length and flexibility.

Cons: Not free?

Other Thoughts: Using this to power both an LG DVD Burner and a Kingston HyperX SSD off the same plug, and I have no problems whatsoever.

1 out of 5 eggsPoor QC = Dead on Arrival

Pros: Cables are neatly bound/braided, so if it worked it would look nice, and match my PSU cables.

Cons: Did not work. Plugged my 4-pin molex from my power supply into the cable, plugged the 2 SATA power connections into 2 hard drives. Nothing. Tried tons of different configurations/cables. Nothing. Since the shipping for an RMA costs more than twice as much as the cable itself, I'm now $5 poorer with nothing to show for it.

Other Thoughts: Guess I'll have to head to a brick and mortar store and pay a buck or two extra to get another cable that I can return if it's DOA. I hope Radio Shack/Best Buy/Staples has what I'm looking for.
