3 out of 5 eggsIt's standard

Pros: Combined with the original length of the front I/o audio it gives room for good cable management.

Cons: It does not support HD audio, obviously, but it's a compromise considering I could not find another audio extension cord.

Other Thoughts: This purchase does not bother me, audio is audio, more specifically I'm not professional podcaster.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat product at the length I needed.

Pros: * Quality construction. Not your cheap thin cables. They look good when routed.
* Connector ends have a solid feel when plugged in. No wiggle here, a solid fit.
* Good length. Connector end to connector end was about 11" with 10" of cable in between.
* A quick solution for a device with a short audio cable.
* No distortion when using the microphone and headphones.

Cons: * None.

Other Thoughts: I had previously upgraded my full tower with a new motherboard. The tower needed a new audio header panel that supported HD audio and USB 3. To resolve the problem I added a Silverstone USB 3 / Audio panel. The USB 3 cables worked great, but the audio cable was just too short for where I want to locate the panel in my tower. The Apevia Audio Extension cable was just what I needed. Tower bays can now be arranged as I wanted. I originally had planned on using a plastic cable tie to keep the extension cable securely on the Silverstone cable. I found the tie wasn't need as the extension cable had a solid connection when mated. No worry about it coming apart over time.

3 out of 5 eggsFinal verdict is not in

Pros: Cheap cheap cheap. I could buy 2 for less than the cost of one ... so I got 2 :)

Does what it's described to do, extends the length of the front audio jacks.

Cons: Not sure here if it's the cable or my front audio jacks, but my mic doesn't pick up my voice very well (especially compared to when using the rear jack)

Other Thoughts: Personally I rarely have used front jacks so I've usually left them unplugged, just plugging in the USB and hiding the rest. Recently I wanted to be able to use them after using a mic more and more with the back panel being less accessible than in the past.

My Mobo was too far away from those ports, so I couldn't plug them in. This extender lets me reach just fine...

HOWEVER: the main purpose was for the mic, so this was the first thing tested. (new build, no mic settings had been changed) - I was having a very hard time getting my voice heard even though I could tell the mic was working by the levels reacting to (loud) noises.

Basic troubleshooting including reseating all the connections (mic cable with an extender) and even taking out that extender completely, boosting mic levels in Windows, checking drivers and restarting computer.

Eventually I plugged it into the back panel again, works fine.

I will be testing this again soon and will reseat the external audio extender connected to the mobo, trying the other one I got, and If possible, I will also be trying newer front jacks. If there is improvement I will see if I can change this review.

The cable basically does what it was designed to do, still trying to figure out if my issues are related to it, or faulty front jacks. (audio with headphones seem normal)

5 out of 5 eggsJust the thing.

Pros: Exactly what was I was expecting. Quality build. Need to take an egg off of my case review for have the audio cable to short but I could have routed it diferently to make it work...I just OCD about my cable management.

Cons: Costs $5.98 insted of $5.95....NONE!

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: was as advertised

Cons: some pins were bent, managed to somewhat bend back into place and connect uncomfortably forced and snugged into front panel connector. don't know if this fault of packaged or handling at newegg. didn't feel like sending back and getting new one so 3 eggs it is
