- Pros: Finally use those old hard drives stuck in broken laptops!
- Cons: ...and have the adapter break after trying to install it!
- Other Thoughts: Seriously, these adapters are fine but only if you're extremely gentle with them. I bought four, only two remain. Very shoddy workmanship on these things.
Corrosion
- Pros: It works to suite the purpose.
- Cons: Not a very sturdy build and when I got the unit it had corrosion all over the contacts, bummer, after cleaning and carefully installing this unit in my PC it works okay, if you are working in the case you need to be careful not to hit the ribbon cable because the pins on the unit bend very easily.
- Other Thoughts: Use for a temporary solution only.
Defective Design or Manufacture
- Pros: None: I couldn't make it work because of the pin spacing.
- Cons: The female 2.5" connector has the wrong pin spacing: forcing the connector on splays out the hard drive's pins, and full contact is NOT made.
