5 out of 5 eggsWorks

Pros: Works on Win7 64 with the appropriate drivers.

Cons: Driver installation isn't exactly simple as I needed to navigate the CD's directories for the appropriate driver... Minor inconvenience but not a problem since it worked.

Other Thoughts: What bugs me a lot is the fact that I got a Sabrent device and not a Kinamax device. I do not know the relationship between the two companies, nor do I care. But the reason this is not a "con" nor am I docking an egg is because Sabrent has a good support website, Kinamax does not.

4 out of 5 eggsSeems Okay

Pros: It seems to work well enough with more common operating systems, super cheap.

Cons: Didn't work with some dedicated firewall operating systems. Isn't super fast, but you can't really expect much from a USB Network Interface Card.

Other Thoughts: Worked with Ipfire
Didn't work with Monowall or Pfsense

5 out of 5 eggsUSB to Ethernet

Pros: Pretty nice so far. Does what it says and is actually faster than I expected. It was a cheap solution to my laptop's dead ethernet card and it worked great.

Cons: It's just a little bit bulky I think but I guess there really isn't that much to do to avoid that with this kind of device.

Other Thoughts: Deff the best bang for your buck I was thinking about buying a gigabit adapter because I use the laptop at work everyday that I was buying this adapter for and I work on a gigabit network at my office. Then I remembered that the max transfer rate for USB 2.0 is 480mbps and obviously it would not be able to even produce a 1000mbps connection. Sneaky hardware companies don't think you will ever think about little stuff like that. Just buy this adapter, it's easy, it's convenient, it's cheap and it works great.

1 out of 5 eggsFails within 3 weeks

Pros: Cheap?

Cons: 2 of these failed within 3 weeks of use. The first one stopped being recognized in the list of USB devices. On the second one, the blue internal LED that normally shows activity started blinking nonstop whenever an Ethernet cable was plugged in. In both cases, I swapped it out with a new unit to resolve the problem.

5 out of 5 eggsSimple quality adapter

Pros: Works with Win7x64 just fine, no manual driver installation necessary.

Cons: I am more a fan of the adapters that have a cord so that you can position the adapter and cable better, but I was more interested in the adapter working on newer systems.

Other Thoughts: Unit I received was from Sabrent not Kinamax, but I'm ok with that because I've always had a good experience with Sabrent products.

5 out of 5 eggsWorked Great!

Pros: Laptop NIC died. Installed this for an emergency on XP, worked right away after installing software from disk. Perfect!

Cons: Not 1000MB? It does extend from laptop quite a bit. Only improvement I could suggest would be to change it from one plastic piece to a USB plug/wire/port so that it hangs down instead of sticks out. I'm being picky.

Other Thoughts: May not even get my laptop NIC fixed. I don't use it that often. Only when wired is necessary or more convenient that wireless.

3 out of 5 eggsCheaply made

Pros: Works

Cons: Cheaply made.

Other Thoughts: My tower got smashed into the back of the desk and this adapter fell apart. The plastic is incredibly cheap. I had to tape it back together as it was in two pieces.
