Neovo Monitor Works Again
- Pros: Works on both my 22W and 19 inch Neovo's. My original supply was less amps but no damage yet.
- Cons: Cord is only 3 feet from power brick, it wont reach the floor from the monitor.
- Other Thoughts: Powers up my Neovos, so I'm happy.
Erik Torfin - Torfin Computers
runs like a top
- Pros: - it's very cheap
- seems to work - saved me money vs alternatives - brought an old lcd monitor that was in my computer parts graveyard back to life - made me happy
- Cons: - none
- Other Thoughts: i bought this b.c. i figured i had nothing to lose and i spend more money than this thing cost on candy each week. i plugged it into a monitor that needed 4.2 amps and it powered right up. the adapter doesn't get hot / appear to be hazard. i don't even care if lessens the life of the old lcd monitor at all, i was going to just throw the thing away. this adapter has brough my old lcd back to life for just a little longer . . .
Works, but for how long???
- Pros: The power supply works as advertised. The price is definitely a plus. Compact unit with a built-in power on light. Bought it to power a small pop vending machine when the internal 6 amp power supply went bad. Bought the appropriate universal jack, wired it into the machine, plugged the this power supply in, and all worked fine.
- Cons: This baby gets a little warm, warm enough that you do not want to hold it for long. The vending machine draws a continuous 4.5 DC amps of the rated 6 amp power supply, but draws 0.9 amps of AC power. The maximum power draw printed right on the label is 0.5 amps AC. So I am using 75% of the available DC power but drawing 180% of the maximum rated AC power. Not efficient, and not to the manufacturer specifications. This is what causes all the heat. I placed it on a block of aluminum to act as a heat sink, which helps some. Time will tell if it will burn itself out. Also, the brand on the label is not Kinamax, but some other Chinese brand. Is Newegg substituting inferior products?
- Other Thoughts: Newegg has fast delivery and fair shipping costs. But they need to advertise their products correctly and give you what you expect to get. The power consumption indicates that it is an inferior product. It does have a 1 year replacement warranty, so hopefully if it goes bad Newegg will replace it. I guess you get what you pay for. Overall it does work, but be forewarned about the high power consumption and heat generation.
