Pros: None. This should not even be being sold.

Cons: This product is defective and I think that's obvious by the reviews. It will probably work for a little while but you can surely expect it to fail. Some last longer than others. Mine lasted less than a year and one day just stopped working causing me to drive 45 minutes one way to the closest Micro Center to replace it.

I personally will not be buying any more products from IOGEAR.

Pros: The cable works with every device I have tested it with. Cable is high quality. I run it outside in Minnesota with a USB wLAN NIC for better reception from a hotspot that, of course, I own. The cable has withstood 4 seasons in Minnesota.

Cons: Cable is somewhat inflexable. Sheath around female end of cable prevents connections from many devices. I have a spare 1 ft USB extension cable which fixes this problem.

Other Thoughts: The cable length exceeds the length parameters for the USB protocol. I assume there are repeaters inside the cable. Repeaters or not, the cable works. The cable has also powered any bus-powered device without issue. I have not tested it with USB 1.x, but USB 2.0 users: this cable will work.

Pros: the only way to get a long USB extension

Cons: After about 7 months of regular use the computer stops recongizing all devices pluged into this cable, requireing a re-start, then its fine.

Other Thoughts: Hoping that this issue does not get worse in time.

Pros: It's long.

Cons: Worked for 3 1/2 months then died. The PC no longer saw the printer plugged into the other end.

Other Thoughts: Since it was over 30 days and I no longer have the packaging. I called IOGEAR. I got someone live immediately then spent an hour trying to explain that I wanted an RMA.
They are sending an email detailing all the information they need faxed to them before they will issue an RMA. It's time from me to cut my losses and toss the useless cable out.

Pros: It's long.

Cons: Doesn't work. I've tried many different devices, multiple ports, and multiple systems. Doesn't recognize any devices attached to it. All of which work if connected directly to the system.

Other Thoughts: I love IOGear products, but in this case there seems to have been a major product quality or testing lapse on their part.

Pros: Nice price. Well reputed brand.

Cons: Doesn't work. Not all lines were intact inside sheething. Indicator light was lit on female end indicating a working connection, and with all but one line on some functions worked albeit irratically. Unfortunately we took to long to figure out where the actual problem was and it is no longer returnable. If it was working and the factory tested each cable with a tester as we eventually did (i know i know, start at the simple stuff) I am sure it would be a decent product. However I would speculate that they are depending on the indicator light for reliable information just as we did.

Pros: Long enough cable to get where I need it to go. Worked first time and still going whenever I use it.Plug and Play.

Cons: None so far had cable for awhile and ran into nothing yet.

Other Thoughts: I use this for my PVR and it works fine. I use it on My Mac Pro everything reads it fine. Can't beat the price if you need a long usb cable.

Pros: Seems tough and durable. Good locking connectors.

Cons: It worked very well with an external USB2 drive when coiled. But when uncoiled and run 25 ft. the disk would not stay mounted for more than a second or two. Possibly too sensitive to electric field interference. Might work if you can run it separately from the power cable. Unfortunately I cannot.

Other Thoughts: IOGear support was unavaialbe on their 24-hour chat. No instructions or specs included in packaging nor online that I could find. I guess they assume it will just work.

Pros: I have had a problem with my Epson printer due to a long (20 ft through a hub) USB cable run. By moving the printer out of the equipment room closer, I was able to determine that the problem was due to the long cable.

I found out about active USB cables (who knew?!), and tracked this down. Plug and play and no problems!

Other Thoughts: A four-page "manual" for a data cable . . . seriously?
