4 out of 5 eggsCheap, does the job.

Pros: So far, so good. Backed up 3TB of data through one of these to an external drive with minor, correctable issues. (See cons)

These cables do have clips, so they hold securely, even though they don't appear to in the pictures.

Cons: On a couple of occasions, the controller had to back the link speed from 6Gbps down to 3Gbps during the course of the long backup. Never 1.5Gbps, but that's the first time I've seen this external drive exhibit this behavior. It could be the new controllers, but I trust Intel more than I trust inexpensive SATA cables. :)

2 out of 5 eggsDamaged goods

Pros: Since I drank the kool-aid and have eSata devices, and newer mobo's don't come with eSata, you need something like this. It does work.

Cons: Since the original Sata connectors would fall off when you pass gas, they redesigned the connector with a metal clip. These don't have the clip. WHY? Also, one connector was crushed. By removing the broken piece I was able to still use it, just don't move the case. The cables are short. Would have been nice to route them under the mobo instead of over it.

1 out of 5 eggsPoor quality. Causes system instability

Pros: Cheap (Or None since it does not work)

Cons: Unstable
Won't work without restarting

Other Thoughts: First of all, if you are considering to use this to replace the USB cable of your external hard disk, you need to know this does not offer the plug-and-play feature as supported by USB.

Secondly, not sure what has caused this, but my computer seems to hang frequently after installing and plugging this into my SATA port, even after I disconnected my hard disk.

In the end, I have to remove it totally from my box to make sure it won't damage my motherboard or any thing much more expensive that itself. This is a piece of junk to me right now.

Point of the story? You get what you pay for.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Inexpensive, long cables, good quality

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I agree with others that the connectors don't snap into the motherboard, but I've hadn't had any issues with them becoming disconnected.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid

Pros: Good quality, solid construction. SATA cables long enough to reach mb connectors. Quick and easy way to add a couple eSATA connectors to a system that doesn't have them.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: If I really wanted to complain, I'd have preferred a different color cable... But that's reaching. Very happy with this add-on.

5 out of 5 eggscables plenty long, does what it should

Pros: Easy to install
Cables are easily long enough to reach from back of case to sata ports toward the front of the motherboard.

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggsGood deal

Pros: Good quality cable. The cable length is just about the right length for my MB (if I want to be picky, it could be a little shorter to reduce the clutter). The bracket plate has a lip on one edge to stiffen it better than a flat plate.

Cons: As another review mentioned, the internal connector (plug to the motherboard) seemed a bit loose. Not really a con, since it works fine, but it doesn't snap in to feel secure.

Other Thoughts: Unlike some other reviews, I've had no problem fitting this in to one of the PCI slots.
