5 out of 5 eggsGreat for the money

Pros: It's nice to finally own a USB adapter that is limited only by the drive's sustained transfer rate, at least in regard to hard drives. I didn't test it with my SSD.

Cons: Only works with 2.5" drives
No 12v support

Other Thoughts: A 12v power port would have been a nice addition, even if they didn't include a power supply in order to keep the cost down.
I only needed to transfer data off my old laptop HDD after upgrading to a SSD so the lack of 3.5" support wasn't an issue when I chose this adapter; I was only looking at price.

1 out of 5 eggsDo not purchase

Pros: Nothing I can say, but it got here in one piece.

Cons: The USB 3.0b port just gave away on its own weight (ie the cable). So a flimsy construction! I wonder how other people could handle it. I am relatively a careful guy.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Fast - I get about 213 MB/s read and write with a Samsung 840 Pro SSD. (tested using Blackmagic on a Mac). I was considering buying the Seagate thunderbolt adapter+cable, but decided it wasn't worth it to pay $120 more for a 100 MB/s improvement over this.

Worked perfectly as soon as I plugged it in, and I haven't had any problems so far. Tried copying a virtual machine disk image (30+ GB) and it took about 2-3 minutes.

Cons: Doesn't look very nice. It seems to expect drives that are in some kind of enclosure, but works fine with just bare drives. Not taking off any eggs for this, since I knew it before ordering and it's going to be hidden in my desk anyway.

Other Thoughts: I'm using this with an SSD to backup large files quickly.

3 out of 5 eggsIt works, but not as good as the original Seagate GoFlex adapter

Pros: Good, stable, but speed is about a 3-5mbps slower.

Cons: The cable is very stiff.
I bought two of them and the other has a defective cable.

Other Thoughts: Great price for other adapters out there though.

4 out of 5 eggsGood

Pros: USB 3.0 + work

Cons: This is part of the enclosure. Instead of selling the whole enclosure, they just took it apart and sell it.
So it doesn't fit nicely. There is a gap about 1inch when you plug the SSD. It looks so ugly.

Other Thoughts: It would be best if this is just a cable with one end is SATA port and the other end is the usb 3.0 port.

5 out of 5 eggsworks well

Pros: Lightweight
Fast
Works with my 2.5" HDD and SSD

Cons: NA

Other Thoughts: Does not support 3.5" HDD, but it's my fault for overlooking it

I was able to team it up with a Rosewill USB 3 card and get 200Mb/s and 150MB/s sequential read/write on my SSD.

5 out of 5 eggsSo VERY VERY PLEASED!!!

Pros: Works with my Seagate GoFlex 3.0
I mean, it actually replaces that whole unit.

Right now am transferring some very large files at steasy 75MB/s whereas I feel the one that came with the seagate tapped out around 60MB/s.

75MB/s is probably as fast as the hdd itself can go so the USB 3.0 part seems to be able to surpass that tho i have not tested it on a ssd

Works and fits nice and tight. Feels very sturdy and secure.

Cons: zero.

was under 20,, thats great and what this kind of adapter should cost.

Other Thoughts: I bought this intending to use with multiple drives and already had a goflex... I thought the goflex was going bad, and after I got over my surprise that it fit so well, I tested the drive out again and clearly it was the original goflex adapter that was loose and faulty,, but the drive is good!!

I am very pleased for that because now I have not lost my cool lil portable 1 tb go flex. Though I now am upset with goflex for making a flimsy adapter and give praise to kingwin for stepping in.

In addition, this fits more drives than the original goflex adapter as there is less stuff in the way of the connection.

Real winner here.
