3 out of 5 eggsUnfortunate change in quality since 10-2013

Pros: We integrate a power cord into the PSU for a custom application, and I had previously identified this cord as having the necessary quality to meet our needs. Mainly, that the wire was of sufficient guage to produce a good solder point.

Cons: Not any more. Same part number. Same packaging. Same description. Different material. The wires are now very thin, and made of some sort of wire that you cannot twist & have it stay so that you can insert it through the eye in the solder point. The current cords are, I would say, very fragile in comparison to what they were in the order I placed in October of last year.

Other Thoughts: I would not recommend this cord anymore. I think it will not stand up to the normal stresses a power cord needs to withstand. Unfortunately I bought 30 of them, because I already "knew" that they were a good quality product. It is agravating when a product is changed w/o any change in the part number, or the description. (Even the ends are formed completely differently. It is not the smae cord at all.)

1 out of 5 eggsNot safe to use

Pros: It worked ok for a couple months but then...

Cons: I went to get on my computer but wouldn't turn on, checked the cable and it had completely shorted out and melted to my carpet. Just glad it didn't set anything on fire.

3 out of 5 eggsdefinately NOT heavy duty

Pros: it is what it is, and i will probably never use it.

Cons: saw the gauge and the "heavy duty" description,

and it is anything but. it is just a plain old power cable.

got it on sale, threw in a drawer

4 out of 5 eggsPower

Pros: Cheep
works on most monitors

Cons: the female side is a little tough to shove in the first few times, but it give and becomes easier after a few days. (I change monitors often for different things, so I plug and unplug it 3 or so times a day)

5 out of 5 eggsWorks in a pinch

Pros: Transfers power

Cons: Doesn't make sandwiches

Other Thoughts: Need a cable? Would you rather spend $5 and wait 3 days or go to Best Blue or Stallmart and drop $20? You'd rather wait you say? Buy this cable.
