4 out of 5 eggsSolid Product (at USB 2.0 Speed)

Pros: Product seats well into SATA 2.5" drive and has a solid connection, likewise the USB 3.0 cable is solid and while slightly inflexible it does operate as intended.

Cons: Definitely not USB 3.0. It does run at a full USB 2.0, but no chance USB 3 even when accounting for connections and overhead on single connected device.

Other Thoughts: I had read the reviews ahead of the purchase, and this is a great price for my use, cloning a HDD to SSD.

5 out of 5 eggsWorked great

Pros: Worked great--small and easy to move around.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Plug into your SATA drive, plug into your USB port, transfer files. It's that easy.

1 out of 5 eggsHave to agree, not good

Pros: Looks and feels well made. The adapter connection to the drive feels solid and connects well.

When it works, the SATA-III and USB-3 speeds are great, but that does not happen often enough.

Cons: Drops the drive connection frequently.

The cable is very stiff so it pulls the USB plug at an angle unless you lay it all out perfectly relative to a the computer USB port and then put a weight on the cable so it can't be accidentally nudged.

A similar problem exists with the USB-B plug into the back of the adapter. That too is prone to slight movement. At any given time, the slightest bump of the desk can make it drop the connection.

If the adapter and a drive is plugged into the computer USB port and then win8 is cold-booted, it hangs at the first start up screen. I have to unplug the adapter from the USB port, then Ctrl-Alt-Del to restart the win8 boot cycle.

Other Thoughts: Having a thinner and more flexible cable soldered directly into the adapter would solve these issues. How do I know that? I bought a Syba SD-ENC50037 adapter which covers both those issues very nicely and in three months, it has never dropped a connection. Sadly, that is only a SATA-II adapter so it is slower.

Not worth shipping back, besides I have waited too long and a replacement would be no better if it has the USB

1 out of 5 eggsAbysmal USB2 Performance

Pros: None. Maybe shiny?

Cons: Slow. Slow. Slow.

Other Thoughts: Slow USB 2.0 speeds. Blackmagic test comparisons to an OCZ Vertex 3 512GB SSD. Seagate GoFlex Pro USB 3.0: 131.5MB/s write, 165.5MB/s read. Seagate GoFlex Pro USB 2.0: 40.3MB/s write, 40.1MB/s read. Kingwin Adapter: 42.2 MB/s write, 41.6MB/s read.

Don't buy.

2 out of 5 eggsWorks, but speeds suck

Pros: -It works
-Powers all 2.5 inch drives

Cons: Speeds are a little above USB 2.0. So around 35 MB/S down and up from a SSD rated at 350 MB/s.

Cheap hardware, the cable weighs more then the device itself.
