1 out of 5 eggsA gamble

Pros: Cheaper than OEM

Cons: A Gamble.

I had recently recieved an old ibook g4 with a damaged ac adapter. The connector was shot and it looked like this charger had the best reviews and was siginificantly cheaper than OEM. However like other reviews, I had a buzzer, each time it charged it had a weak buzzing sound that occured during it's charge. It also had an incredibly slow charge rate, taking 10 hours to fully charge the batttery. After about 50 uses the product stopped working alltogether. Tearing it apart it didn't look like anything shorted out, but I haven't run through testing all the componenents. I'll post pics if newegg allows. I ended up just splicing the new connector with the old OEM charger, now charges batteries in less than 2 hours. It looks like based on macally ratings in the end this is just a bit of a gamble .20/1 your product works fine but then there's the posibiility you're geting the one faulty product. Good Luck!

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect replacement for a powerbook

Pros: Only took me getting electrocuted once with my original adapter, to switch to this one. It actually outlasted the powerbook. Very reliable, no hums, no heat issues.

Cons: Wish it came in black :( the white is nice and clean. but the cord is long so it ends up laying on the ground. get scratched and skuffed.

1 out of 5 eggsNo where near as good as the original

Pros: None

Cons: Makes a funny noise when plugged into my G4 and the screen flickers while it makes a noise.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat for the price

Pros: This third party power adapter is a great alternative to the Apple stock adapter. Looks different but does the job. It took just the same amount of time to charge my laptop compared to my original Apple adapter. So far there are no signs of twisting, fraying or over heating. Great for reviving that G4 PowerBook without digging deep into your wallet

Cons: Sometimes has a little difficulty starting a charge cycle when the computer is already on, which disappears within a minute of the charge. Also, it is harder to wind up than the stock Apple charger. Last, There is no light on the plug to indicate power/charge state (only a LED on the adapter signals power from the wall)

Other Thoughts: Used on a 12" Powerbook G4 running OS X 10.4.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Deal!!!

Pros: Inexpensive, durable, and oh yeah it works. 17 inch G4 Powerbook charges in about the same amt of time as original. Long cord and no ground plug. Doesn't get as hot as stock power supply.

Cons: No status light on plug.

Other Thoughts: Newegg. Great product, great value, great purchase. Keep up the good work guys.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works well, starts charging immediately. Long cord with velcro makes it easy to use on my bed.

Cons: Started acting funny for a minute, but I locked one of the cables in place (which I hadn't noticed earlier) so that seemed to help.

Other Thoughts: Good for the price, quick service and shipping. Very good overall.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat with Ibook g3 Dual USB

Pros: The power supply is white and matches well with the "ice" color of my ibook. The blue light on the power supply makes it easy to tell the unit is functional. The included velcro strap is a nice touch and really helps with taming wild cords.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: New Egg is awesome. I tried buying this same product from another vendor, but canceled after getting the "run around." With New I never have to worry. Items ship fast and are usually top notch.

5 out of 5 eggsIgnore djTA630

Pros: Cheap and durable. Don't listen to djTA630, he doesn't know what he's talking about. This is a 45W adapter. His 17" PBG4 needs a 65W adapter, go look it up on No wonder it takes him so long to charge with this.

Cons: Doesn't have Apple's little light around the plug, gets dirty easily, but who cares as long as it gives you power.

2 out of 5 eggsYou get what you pay for.

Pros: If you don't have another adapter around and are short on $$, this may be a good adapter for you.

Cons: Charges *extremely* slow. It takes almost 7 hours to charge a battery to full power during a workday. (While using light-duty applications such as web browsing or word processor applications.)

Other Thoughts: I've used this for a good 3 weeks now - not so happy with the experience of the product. It's a good adapter to have around if one isn't available, so I ended up keeping this in the office if I (or co-workers) forget an adapter at home. Also, I ended up purchasing another certified adapter for my 17" PBG4 due to the unacceptable slowness of the charge.
