Cons: Either I got a DOA adapter or this is not compatible with AMD cards by MSI. I've tried it with a HD 6950 2Gb PE/OC Frozr 3 and 5770 Hawk, neither one detected it. (Doesn't seem to matter if it's the only monitor or one of several) Other Thoughts: If there is a simple solution to this, I am all ears. I'm not going to hold my breath waiting though. Probably will end up RMA'ing this and finding an adapter that is powered, but it seems silly to have to spend nearly as much on the adapter as I did on the screen it will attach to.
