Vantec USB Active Repeater Cable - Model CB-USBARC

Pros: It worked perfectly for 9 months, then totally failed.

Cons: After 9 months it failed on me, not the great buy that some are bragging about.

Pros: My laser printer sits more then 12' from my computer and would not work with a standard 15' USB hooked up to it but as soon as I hooked up this cable with a short cable hooked to it and the printer and scanner worked fine after that.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: If your printer will work with a short cable but will not work with a longer cable then you will need one of these repeater cables.

Pros: Been working perfectly for over 6 months to extend my computer's USB ports to another room. I get full USB2 speed and have no errors, data loss or lag.

Cons: None.

Pros: Work perfectly. I took out of the package and plugged into the PC. It immediately recognized the device just as the directions stated it would. I then plugged the devices in. In this case it was a Tt Meka mechanical gaming keyboard, matching mouse, and COD Black Ops Stealth game controller. I used two of the extension cables and plugged in the keyboard USB and the Accessory USB also on the keyboard - and then plugged the mouse and gaming controller into the keyboard USB outlets. Everything worked absolutely perfect within seconds and has worked perfect since installation. I am quite pleased with the product, I recommend to anyone. They work as advertised.

Pros: Works at USB 2.0 speeds with no hassle. They're long.

Cons: Cable head pops apart under stress, exposing wires and a bare PC board. These should be glued together.

Other Thoughts: I've had a set of four of these for several years now and aside from the con above, they've worked reliably with a powered hub on one end connected to up to 3 devices (gamepad, webcam, USB-to-serial).

Pros: I've been using this for a USB microphone that i need to have extremely low latency on and it works extremely well. There is no lag on the mic, the same way it was with just the cable from the manufacturer.

Cons: I literally cannot think of anything....

The USB end is kind of large.... It might be a con for some people....

Other Thoughts: Great deal for like 10 bucks!

Pros: My wireless mouse wasn't quite long enough range to go from living room to computer room. With this cord handling the first 15 feet everything works great. No noticeable delay -- works good.

Cons: None yet.

Pros: Windows identifies it when plugged in (as a hub).

Cons: Does nothing else. Have tried it on an XP machine with an HP Designjet, and on a Windows 7 machine with HP Deskjets 5900 & 1200 (both work fine plugged in without the extender), and the printers have never been recognized by the computers. Also tried just plugging a thumb drive into it & no luck. Ready to throw it away at this point.

Other Thoughts: Have had to use more expensive solutions for customers due to the cord not working.

Pros: Long; good cable thickness; solid connectors

Cons: Large connector for tiny chip makes it difficult to route in cable hiding channels.

Other Thoughts: It works. Runs along the back wall of my garage from an old DELL tower to the USB hub in the monitor, into which the keyboard and mouse are plugged into. Had to play some to get it into the channel I have to hide the wires, but minor setback.
