VANTEC CB-TAU03H 6 ft. (1.8m) ezSHARE PRO Adapter with 3-Port Hub

Pros: Excellent device that using the USB port to create a Windows desktop device on each computer of the other computer. Files are moved with a simple drag and drop. It has been tested bet XP computers and XP to Win7 64bit without any problems. This is a must buy if you have multiple computers.

Works with USB extenders.

Cons: I should come with a longer cord.

Pros: I have tried this product with a Windows 7 RC desktop and XP SP3 laptop without any problems. The transfer rate was extremely fast. No problems with running the easy to use software, although the computers did require a reboot to make it work. Similar, but faster than other products I have used in the past to transfer files. I have not had a chance to see what my real time tranfer rate was, but I copied about 16 GB of individual files about 10MB a piece in less than two minutes. Handling the same transfer over my home network probably would have taken me about an hour.

Suprisingly, the ezShare Pro was cheeper than the regular version at New Egg. This has added ports for external hard drives. I have not tried them yet.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Desktop transferring the files was a i7 overclcked to 4 on an ASUS Rampage Extreme II Motherboard. That might have added to the extreme speed of the transfer.

Pros: None

Cons: I have tried to use this between 2 Desktop PC's running Win XP Pro. PC#1 BSOD with "Bad_Pool_Caller" & stop code C2. Same BSOD on PC#1 when tried with Acer Aspire Netbook XP Home.

PC#2 with Acer gives Windows installed new device & reboot message which has no effect after PC#2 rebooted. Then rebooted Acer (while USB still connected)--still no effect, no transfer windows.

Final test was between IBM T43 Thinkpad (XP-Pro) & Acer Netbook (XP Home). No effect.

Called Vantec tech support (Terence) who had no idea why this wouldn't work, suspected may be defective unit.

So, I RMA'd to NewEgg. Just got new, 2nd unit. Exact same failure to work between all combinations of 2 PC's and Thinkpad & Acer Netbook.

Green LED on EZ Share HUB slowly pulses green on/off at cycle rate of 1 sec. USB connection sounds in all computers when plugged in. No errors in Device Manager.

I tried reversing which end of USB cables plugged into which PC, and varied order of which plug inserted

Other Thoughts: I give up. I can't recommend this if it doesn't work with any of 4 PC's. I read of similar problems with some people using the plain EZ Share cable without the extra USB hub slots, so there is somthing fundamentally wrong with the design and auto-launching compatibility with some systems. Mine are all running Window XP Pro SP3 & XP Home in Netbook.

I'm returning this to NewEgg for refund.

I am sorry to hear that your product did not work exactly how it is expected. To ensure for a smooth operation, please restart both computers so that window is refreshed. Once the system has been rebooted on both computer, proceed connecting the ezShare to the host computer and then to the remote computer. Please also make sure that autorun is active as the ezShare program will automatically load. Once in the program you may use the window to move and copy files from one computer to the other.
