2 out of 5 eggsAlmost

Pros: If it fit it would have been awesome

Cons: I have an ASUS M5A99FX pro mb it just barely will not clear the 24 pin motherboard power connector. My fault I suppose for not measuring, but come on who measures that!

Other Thoughts: I suppose this will work for other motherboards but not for M5A99FX pro.

5 out of 5 eggsInternal storage with no wires.

Pros: I had several goals with my new workstation build and one of them was to have no internal SATA drives at all to help cut down on wiring. I used this adapter to connect 2 very fast USB 3.0 flash drives directly to the motherboard. I use these 2 drives as shared folders between the host system and VMs, the setup is flawless and fast.

Cons: I had to pull the rubber off of the 2 flash drives to make them both fit. This is such a small con that I am not going to take away an egg for it.

Other Thoughts: If you have ever wanted something like a mSATA SSD on a desktop motherboard but it did not come with that port this is a good way to more or less get the identical functionality.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks as advertised

Pros: Works

Cons: The adapter is on the slightly large side; it was tough fitting it into the mini-itx system I built; it works around a flaw in case design, really (as in - why on earth would anyone use full fledged thick usb cables with a full connector for case ports? I do wonder if this is a gambit to increase revenue by selling completely unnecessary additional supplies); for what it does, it's super-expensive.

Other Thoughts: Choose your case wisely, but in case you made the same error that I did, this is probably going to work for you, albeit at the expense of a lot of very cumbersome cable management and possibly one of the ports next to the board header you connect to.

3 out of 5 eggsWorks But Blocks Mobo Ports

Pros: Saved me from having to "pass-through" the USB 3.0 cables on the front of my Corsair Obsidian 650D to the motherboard.

Cons: The adapter gets wide where it connects to the USB cables. On my motherboard (Asus Sabertooth Z77), this interfered with the SATA 6Gb ports. I was able to squeeze in a cable on one of the two ports, but if I ever go RAID, I'd like to have both ports available...

Other Thoughts: The adapter works well. If I didn't have the port issue, this would have been 5 eggs.
