This review is from: Koutech IO-MHL200 MHL to HDMI / USB Hub Media Adapter
Pros: It looks good. Not great but good. It is a rough matte black finish plastic box about the dimensions of a credit card and thickness of a tv remote. It has a built in usb hub so if your device supports it, your device can read off of a usb drive. It also has a separate mini usb (not to be confusing with the micro usb for power) that you would use to connect to a pc. It also has a full size hdmi slot that would run to your tv.
Cons: With all the different ports, you can only either push video or use data, but not together. I found out the hard way that the original MHL support (this hub) was for the basic 5 pin micro usb that pushes either video or data, but not at the same time. I just found out that Samsung's newer devices use an 11 pin micro usb that does allow simultaneous video and data transfer. I wasnt aware there was a difference but this device will not work on newer tablets and phones.
Other Thoughts: I guess my cons are not really cons, as the device probably does what it is supposed to do. I just took off an egg because I have to pay shipping and a restocking fee because the description doesnt say anything about 5pin or 11pin and I was never able to even use the hub to test functionality.
