5 out of 5 eggsGood cable

This review is from: BYTECC C6E-1000W 1000 ft. Cat 6 White Bulk Cable

Pros: Good solid Cat6 cable.
Easy to work with and setup. (Over 10 years experience making network cables)
Good price for Cat6 solid copper cable.
Getting great speeds, solid connections.

Cons: Haven't seen any cons yet. Most Cat6 cable comes with a center spine to keep inner wires from breaking due to tension and also helps with reducing electrical interference. So, keep that in mind when pulling it out of the box.

Other Thoughts: I am not sure what some of these complaints are about.
This cable is pretty easy to work with. The copper wires straighten out pretty well and pretty easily. I used combo connectors to make the ends and it was a breeze. No difficulty crimping or feeding. I would recommend combo ends or feed through connectors as they are so much easier to use and make sure they are rated for Cat6. I saw someone who used Cat5 ends and complained about how hard it was . Well..duh.
I ran a length of cable from my spare bedroom top floor all the way to the basement on the other end of the house and it was a snap.
I saw someone complaining about flimsy outer coating. Well, with the divider in the middle you don't need a thick outer jacket. No divider, you need a thicker outer jacket.
For the money, this is pretty good cable that I would buy again.
Not sure also what the complaints were about the box it comes in. It is pretty solid cardboard, but in the end, it is still just cardboard. So treat it accordingly and it will do fine.

3 out of 5 eggsOk Cable

This review is from: BYTECC C6E-1000W 1000 ft. Cat 6 White Bulk Cable

Pros: Works fine.

Cons: The cable is very flimsy. Outer jacket is very very thin, it doesn't have the feel of a high quality cable. Cable always kinks when you take it out of the box.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Stuff

This review is from: BYTECC C6E-1000W 1000 ft. Cat 6 White Bulk Cable

Pros: - CAT 6
- Price
- Thick and durable cabling.
- Does fine in low/high temps

I didn't have all the problems outlined in other reviews. My box for example has held up fine to the abuse I've put it through (I DID put a little tape on it when I got it just in case) but I (on accident) knocked it down half a staircase. The box held up fine to the abuse.

Cons: - None. Its cable nothing complex about it.
- I guess it COULD have been helpful if it was rated for car towing (Got stuck during snow storm)

Other Thoughts: Honestly this was the first experience with cabling and haven't used any other brands/types besides this since this worked just fine.

One thing to remember, If you need more flexible cable you're going to want to get CAT 5 instead of CAT 6. I used this in a new home so it ran into the walls and it DID run through other parts but since I have a bit of server equipment in the house, those areas don't have to be hidden or anything.

4 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: BYTECC C6E-1000W 1000 ft. Cat 6 White Bulk Cable

Pros: Cat6 thick cabling.

Cons: The box does not hold up to normal "box of cable" abuse of throwing in car, pushing around flooring of new construction, etc.

So much so, that I am knocking an egg off because it has become so annoying to keep taping up the box. The other 4 boxes of cabling I've used stayed together through abuse of mass-wiring jobs where you take the box to dozens of locations.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks great

This review is from: BYTECC C6E-1000W 1000 ft. Cat 6 White Bulk Cable

Pros: Centre spine to limit N.E.X.T.
CAT6 specifications and speed.
Bulk cable easy to produce customized lengths.

Cons: Centre spine makes cable less flexible and difficult to work with in very confined spaces. Must plan accordingly.
Must crimp my own RJ45 connectors ..........

Other Thoughts: Wired my complete house with CAT6.
Running gigabit LAN at home. Most peripherals are gigabit.
Works great with busy NAS.
(pity its a cr@ppy NAS though)

1 out of 5 eggsPoor Quality

This review is from: BYTECC C6E-1000W 1000 ft. Cat 6 White Bulk Cable

Pros: It works but requires extra labor to strip and crimp.
It's cheap but for the same price one can buy better cable.

Cons: Poor and too thin outer jacket insulation, in the same time individual wires have too thick insulation making them difficult to insert into CAT 5 plug for crimping.

Other Thoughts: Wouldn't buy it again

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Fine

This review is from: BYTECC C6E-1000W 1000 ft. Cat 6 White Bulk Cable

Pros: Works well, seems to cause less interference than cat5e I was using, but i suppose it could be just the slight change in position.

Cons: none so far.

Other Thoughts: Specs here say the wire is 24 box and bytecc web site say it is 23 awg. I measured it with a rather old guage. took a cat 5 and this both will pass through the 24 space but the cat 6 wire is tight passing, neither will pass through the 25 space. Maybe the specs have changed for tolerance or maybe that is why newegg has it listed as 24 but misprints are common as one site has the wire size a 4 awg, wouldnt it be fun to put a connector on that.

5 out of 5 eggsVery good cable, Great price

This review is from: BYTECC C6E-1000W 1000 ft. Cat 6 White Bulk Cable

Pros: I ran a few hundred feet throughout my house without a problem. Every line was solid and tested positive for connectivity. Highly recommend CAT6e for new runs.

Cons: none.
