4 out of 5 eggsGood cable. Terrible box

Pros: Cable is good.

Cons: The box is terrible. It was falling apart when it arrived. Plan on taping the box before getting started else you will not have fun with this one. The line kinks a bit when pulling out of the box.

Other Thoughts: People have degrees in packaging science. Hire someone with that degree please Bytecc. Why ruin a good product with poor packaging?

5 out of 5 eggsA+

Pros: Perfect wire. does exactly what it was ment to do, and that is transmit data at high speeds

Cons: When i was pulling it out of the box, it got caught up in the box twice, that is not the wires fault, but the box.
Also The wire was fed through many holes that were not much bigger than the wire. and the sheathing got caught up a couple of times.
The sheathing is kind of stretchy when you are making a 300+ foot cable.

Other Thoughts: I needed the wire to run from a med room to an office where i work. the total distance was about 300ish feet and once i wired the plugs correctly, it worked wonderfully

2 out of 5 eggsSo kinky that you should have to be over 18 to buy

Pros: - Quality feel to the cable.
- Continuity test on the spool was successful.
- Sheath has a somewhat matte finish that allows for very easy marking with a Sharpie.
- Clear color marking on the conductors with a solid stripe on white.

Cons: My best estimate is that on average I was able to pull 20ft of cable before it would kink up inside the box and stop pulling. A little wiggle gets it going again, but that means running back to the spool every time (and I've pulled ~600ft so far). This makes it a pain in the you-know-what to pull as a one-man operation. For me, that's reason enough to give it two eggs.

As someone else said, the box is very flimsy. Per his review the very first thing I did was reinforce the seams with packing tape. It came in a very heavy plain brown outer box, which begs the question of why they don't reverse the quality of the two boxes.

Other Thoughts: I saw in a few different different reviews (for this and other cable) that some people had trouble fitting "RJ-45" male terminations because of the plastic core. The solution is simple: after stripping, grab the sheath with one hand and pull the conductors out by a cm or two with the others. Splay out the conductor pairs and cut the plastic core as low as possible. You can then push the conductors back into the sheath, and the core will be about a cm below your termination.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Surprised

Pros: Price on this was excellent, one of the best prices I could find. I was surprised on the quaility of the cable and the fact that it had the correct devider. It was the cross plastic piece, not that thin sheet of plastic you see in some cheap cable. I would buy again!

Cons: Box is a little flimsy because it opens from the side as well as feeds from the top. Nothing some packing tape can't fix though

5 out of 5 eggsGood cable, good price

Pros: 23 gauge solid. Ran this all through my house with no problems.

I've read some users complaining about this cable being too stiff. I completely disagree. The cable bends easily around any corner I needed running it through my house. Its also stiff enough that its way easier feeding it through the wall from the floor below. I highly recommend this wire for setting up a home network or any network that involves feeding wires in walls.

Cons: none

1 out of 5 eggsNot Cat 6 Quality

Pros: It's Red

Cons: out of 10 computers, only 5 will run at 1000Mbps speed anymore. The other 5 run at 10Mbps. Redid all ends, checked cables to make sure they weren't near any electrical wires. No go. Had a friend come out with his cable certifier and checked it. Not up to specs at all!!! I'd ask for my money back or a new roll, but we all know that's not gonna happen.

Other Thoughts: They advertise this cable will run at 550Mhz, which is Cat 6E specs. Cat 6 only runs at 225Mhz. That makes me wonder too.....

4 out of 5 eggsIt's doing the trick

Pros: Running solid at 1000mbps, fairly cheap (as well as convenient) when compared to buying separate varying lengths of network cable. Just make sure to buy RJ-45 connectors, a RJ-45 Crimper, and optionally also buy some boots to make the cables look good.

Cons: The separator in the middle is rather annoying although I am sure useful for "crosstalk"

Other Thoughts: Using this for my home network which includes a 8TB NAS, Blu-Ray Player, Boxee Box, and Samsung TV hooked into a Rosewill 5 port gigabit switch, which is also connected to my wireless router, home computer, cable modem, and Sprint Microtower. Everything seems to be running great with this!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Product

Pros: Lasts forever, good quality

Cons: Plastic piece in center is a pain unless cut.

Other Thoughts: For the price you cannot go wrong. We have been using this cable for years and no problems. Just cut the plastic piece in center before crimping.

5 out of 5 eggsGood stuff!

Pros: Everything, works just as a cable should.

Cons: It's pretty hard to get the pairs straightened out. Probably not great for novices or the impatient.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat!

Pros: what more can i say its a great product for the price. i ended up dropping new cable through my house. works great.

Cons: plastic core can make it hard to get the jacket in the connector but that is only for looks does not affect functionality, just buy some boots if your so concerned :p.

Other Thoughts: i would recommend cant go wrong with the price!!
