Pros: It works perfectly. I used it to transfer files from an old mac mini to a new model mac mini. It was fast and the price was low.

Other Thoughts: Worked perfectly in transferring files from a iMac G5 to a MacBook Pro laptop

Pros: - FW800 to FW400 connectivity for less than the cost of a dongle-style adapter.
- Right length for my application.
- Simple plug-and-play.
- Just works!

Cons: - Wish it were available in various lengths, with highly granular selection; i.e. 1ft, 1.5ft, 2ft etc., and at corresponding prices.

Other Thoughts: I recently upgraded my Apple workstation to a Mac Mini, and I needed a way to connect my FW400 Edirol FA-101 audio interface to the FW800-only Mini. I wasn't prepared to buy the Sonnet Technologies FW800-400 adapter (as handy as it appears) and opted for this simple but fully-functional cable instead.

I haven't tried daisy-chaining with this cable in a series of FW800-400 devices yet, but I would imagine that my findings would be in line with the Firewire standard, not the performance of the cable.

Pros: Recently upgraded to a 15" MB-Pro, and used this cable to migrate data through the firewire 400 port on my old G4 iBook. Worked great!

Other Thoughts: Worked as advertised, a nice length, seems solidly built.
