2 out of 5 eggsInitially worked fine

Pros: Good price point, not bulky, long enough and flexible enough for use in the living room with a laptop. Carries sound and video at full resolution (check Cons section for elaboration)

Cons: Even when it was brand new, you definitely get what you pay for; it's poorly put together, and is made of flimsy plastic that has large gaps in between the pieces.

After a few months of use, it became EXTREMELY unreliable with both audio and video. I have to repeatedly turn off the TV and connect/reconnect it to the laptop to get it to recognize it has been plugged in to an extra monitor. Once the laptop did recognize the connection, moving the adapter at all results in audio/video skipping and static, occasionally for extended periods.

Other Thoughts: This was mostly used in a rougher than average setting since it was used to connect an everyday laptop to a TV monitor about once a day, however it was far from abused.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks for MacBook Pro

Pros: Great adapter. It works but be warn that no 5.1 will come out if you are using it via Bootcamp (Windows 7). This is due to the HDMI driver by AMD. Just a word of caution.

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggsIt works.

Pros: eah, it sends a signal from card to monitor, can't expect much more.

Cons: Not a con of the product but of the display port format, would it have killed someone to build a locking clasp or fastner for these?

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Worked without issue for about 2 months. Gave me the functionality I was looking for.

Cons: After 2 months, I started to have connectivity issues with this adapter and my 2009 macbook pro (intel). I did some brief research and found that it was relatively common for a range of brands' adapters to no longer be recognized by plug-and-play. I haven't been able to solve the problem, and will be ordering a mini-display to hdmi cable, which supposedly circumvents the issues with these adapters. Unfortunately HDMI only endorses the technology in the adapters, and not the mini-display to male hdmi chords...so it's a strange, unsolved issue in my mind.

Other Thoughts: Apple seems reluctant to comment on the issue. I believe they are not supporting the mini-display to hdmi technology, at least in older models. Apple support forums have several hefty threads that address different instances of this problem. Many solutions are proposed, but most will only work for a subset of affected people.

1 out of 5 eggsDidn't work

Pros: Cheap

Cons: It didn't work. I was connecting a MacBook to a monitor, and although I managed to get an image it had a lot of static and kept cutting out.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks

Pros: Works fine

Cons: not active
white

Other Thoughts: Was great for my setup until my active vga adapter crapped out on me... now I have to either buy another active vga adapter or an active HDMI to replace this.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing

Pros: Perfect for my macbook pro, and Yes this adapter does support audio

Cons: Apple never put this in their macbooks in the first place -_-

Other Thoughts: For those who are complaining about audio support most likely do not have a computer that supports audio w/ the MiniDisplay Port. I have audio support and it seems to work just fine
