3 out of 5 eggsPassive!

Pros: It works

Cons: Beware, this is a passive adapter. I should be known better when I saw the price.

Other Thoughts: If you are looking to add a 3rd+ display this is not for you. It is passive, you need an active DisplayPort adapter, they start around $30

1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: Packaging was nice. :/

Cons: The Display Port - HDMI adapter that I recieved didn't work. I Tested the HDMI cable, it worked fine. Borrowed a friends Display Port Adapter that is simular and it worked fine on the monitor that I purchased this adapter for. The one I got was DOA (Dead On Arrival)! : (

1 out of 5 eggsOh well

Pros: NewEgg was very graceful about the refund process.

Cons: DOA. Dead On Arrival. I'd make ex-parrot jokes if I had any confidence that this thing ever lived.

Other Thoughts: Wish I had first seen the comments from another buyer who found that two out of three were no good.

5 out of 5 eggsPasses audio just fine

Pros: Inexpensive solution for DP-to-HDMI conversion. Sturdy connection to DP port and to the HDMI female port. Slim profile and not a clunky solution.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Works great with my Lenovo W510 notebook that was issued from work. Being a business class machine, it doesn't have HDMI but has all the horsepower of a dream machine. My buddy gave me this adapter which he got from Dell, he doesn't use it so he passed it to me. Plugged it in, plugged my 25ft HDMI cable to the female HDMI slot, and viola! Windows 7 instantly recognized my Onkyo receiver and 60" Pioneer plasma. Extended windows onto my plasma and it works just as good as my personal laptop which is equipped with HDMI. I passed PCM no sweat and I was thinking to myself "there is no way this is going to pass a Dolby Digital bitstream to my receiver." Sometimes, it is good to be wrong. Passed DD 5.1 just fine. Don't have a DTS encoded file handy, but I am sure it will pass DTS just fine too.
