1 out of 5 eggsNot working!

Pros: Cheap, works for others apparently.

Cons: Doesn't work with my card.

Other Thoughts: I have tried everything to get this to work with a Lenovo D20 with Nvidia Quadro FX 1800, the display is not detected at all when connected with this adapter. I'm hoping the Lenovo brand adapter works instead.

1 out of 5 eggsSubstitute sent

Pros: Ordered two of these. One was in Bytecc packaging and worked fine but the second unit was slightly different in construction and had no name and had no branding on package.

Cons: The No name had same SKU barcode but did not work. I got RMA for that unit and requested Bytecc branded unit. The replacement came in and was the same unbranded unit and package that was different than the Bytecc unit. Newegg these are not the same!

Other Thoughts: I bought these based on the feedback that had been posted but can't seem to get the Bytecc packaged unit that worked. Requested RMA refund on second unit.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks for eyefinity

Pros: 1. Simple easy setup, just plug it in and it works.
2. It is an active converter so it works with eyefinity.
3. It is cheap.

Cons: I have no cons to list about the product, see "Other thoughts" for details.

Other Thoughts: I bought the adapter to play FPSs in eyefinity. However, with so much screen real-estate flying about as I twitch my wrist I get motion sick. Perhaps I should have thought this purchase through.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Adapter

Pros: This device works great. Simply plugged it in to my displayport, connected the VGA cable to the projectors I have needed to put my display up on and seconds later Windows 7 extends the display.

I primarily use this with my laptop and Powerpoint 2007 presenter mode. It works flawless and is very small so I can carry it around everywhere with me.

Also this adapter is a lot cheaper then many others!

Cons: Haven't seen any yet.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks with eyefinity/linux

Pros: This works with eyefinity on asus EAH6950 driving a VGA monitor at 1600x1200/60.3hz as one of three displays (CRT between two DVI LCDs) in Ubuntu 11.04.

Cons: A little bit of jitter on the display but this may be due to magnetic fields. Works in X with the proprietary fglrx driver. There is an issue with the console (CTRL-ALT-F1, boot, shutdown) text being corrupted and monitors scanned at lower resolution when using this adapter but that may be because the ATI driver is immature or simply because it is a displayport device. All three monitors are affected. setting vga=884 on kernel boot fixes text corruption but still low resolution.

5 out of 5 eggsUpdate from original review

Pros: All of the annoying problems are gone.
Works Properly now with Windows 7 service pack1

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: The adapter originally would only allow 60Hz settings on my old CRT monitor and it was terrible. Since updating to Windows 7 SP1, this problem is gone.

Another annoying problem is that when the PC went into hibernation, the monitor with the adapter would not always wake up. This has been corrected with Windows 7 SP1

3 out of 5 eggsFor Eyefinity

Pros: -Works with Eyefinity
-Unplugged and plugged it back in more than 10 times and it still works

Cons: -I have 2 of the same monitors, 1 hooked up with this and the other hooked up with DVI and you can tell the difference. VGA is slightly blurry.
-Price

Other Thoughts: If you can find a displayport adapter with DVI or HDMI DO IT. Not worth it to buy this adapter and have lower quality. It works fine if you are just using 3 monitors for productivity. But if you are going to game(most likely) get the DVI or HDMI one.
