1 out of 5 eggsTerrible Documentation

Pros: Seems to work.

Cons: Terrible Documentation. Really, really bad. ie.
It will be 100% light on while you press Duplicated start button, Duplicator will be in Clone status while press Duplicate button with in three seconds again ,meanwhile, 100% light off ,25% Flashing ,LED flashing matches with status .it will be lasting on when the function is finished ,For this case ,Four lights will all be off while 100%clone completely

The above is an exact reproduction from the manual. Every capitalization and space is exactly as in the manual. By the way, there is no button marked Duplicate or Duplicated. There is a Clone button. I am thinking that with that level of care towards their customers, that they really do not want our business. While I can not write or even recognize Chinese, I also would not attempt to translate for a product to be sold in China.

Other Thoughts: Look elsewhere.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks great so far!

Pros: - Easy to clone drive to drive without attaching to PC
- Destination drive must be the same size (or larger!) for it to work- by number of sectors (different brands/models may vary slightly!)
- If destination drive is larger, it creates a partition equal to the size of the source drive, and the rest of the space is available so that you can later create an additional partition or extend the cloned partition to the max. size of the drive.
- VERY FAST - copies about 1TB in 3 hrs. (5400rpm).
- Can attach up to 2 drives to PC via USB and supports all read/write ops.
- Progress LED's to let you know drive is attached & 25, 50, 75 and 100% of copying is completed.
- BONUS use: I was able to save a drive that had been formatted with specialty external case software that prevented any PC from accessing the drive directly (without the case) by cloning one of my other hard drives. After that, I was able to format the drive and install it inside a PC.

Cons: - The drive connection LED's do not flash to indicate drive access. This would have been nice to see.
- Drives get rather warm and even hot to the touch. I recommend pointing a desktop fan to keep them cool.
- If the drives get hot enough, this can cause the copy progress LED's to dim, even to the point where you cannot see them.
- Took a lot longer to format an Seagate 1TB drive attached to the USB/PC than to clone it from a 1TB source standalone (8 hrs. vs. 3 hrs.) - Formatting first is not necessary.

Other Thoughts: Not much else, it seems kind of slow when compared to an external USB enclosure case. This could be due to the heat when compared to fan cooled. However, as a disk cloner, it is speedy fast, and I would recommend this to everyone who might need to upgrade to a larger drive while keeping all your stuff (including the OS). It can't get much easier and certainly not any faster to clone an entire HDD, and have the new one work instantly when installed into a PC.

If you clone a lot of hard disks, owning this is essential and a real time saver.

1 out of 5 eggsWorks great but kills drives

Pros: Clones drives great!...until it kills them

Cons: Eventually will destroy hard drives just like the Bytecc BT-300 ide/sata adapter.

Other Thoughts: Bytecc really needs to look closer as to why their devices are frying hard drives. I want to give it a higher review because it actually works when it actually works but the fact that it fries drives is such a huge problem that it only deserves one.

2 out of 5 eggscould be a lot better

Pros: * It's small
* It's easy to use
* You have lots of connection options

Cons: * Documentation is terrible and doesn't really tell you anything it just labels the different connections which if you purchased the thing you probably already know which ports are which.
* It doesn't give you any information on how to use it that is actually useful. Be prepared to do some internet information spelunking.
* The various LEDs may or may not work. Didn't in my case so you have no idea as to how far you have progressed in the cloning process.
* Tested this with 2 seagate goflex drives and it fried them. It's a good thing they were extra drives just laying around and the data was just there for testing purposes. Oh and the goflex drives were dismantled so that instead of using the mini usb connector/ circuitry I could use the mini SATA interface. Even so it's rather slow on the pickup.
* Windows 7 didn't recognize it when hooked to the pc via USB port.

Other Thoughts: Overall it is a product with a lot of potential; however, the implementation left a lot to be desired. As a home user paying hundreds of dollars for a drive cloning dock is out of the question but at least with them you get informative documentation as well as decent support. With this little cloning tool be prepared to spend a lot of time researching how to use it BEFORE you actually unpack any drives to be cloned. I decided to take a chance because of the 2 other reviews and found myself somewhere in the middle between them. It does work but it can damage your drives and the documentation doesn't warn you about it. I just lost two really cheap pocket drives so no real harm done but if you have an OS drive with critical information stored therein I highly recommend you get a different drive cloning product.

5 out of 5 eggsCloned fine the first time

Pros: Upgrade my new laptop SATA HDD 5400RPM to 7200 RPM and clone the old drive the first time without a problem.

Cons: Indicator while cloning just flashes and stops slowly increments to 100%. Would be nice to have a numeric LED with percentile completed. It does show general progression just let it run through.

Other Thoughts: Follow the short directions after connecting the drives. Click the clone button.. click it again while it's flashing to start. It will start to flash and increment. It stops flashing when done.

1 out of 5 eggsHORRIBLE!!!

Pros: LOOKS NICE
CONNECTS EASY
NICE PACKAGING

Cons: CLONE FEATURE DOES NOT WORK.
DOCUMENTATION NEED A LOT OF WORK.
SUPPORT ONLINE MINIMAL
NEED MORE LED LIGHTS TO LET YOU KNOW WHATS GOING ON

Other Thoughts: EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. I SHOULD HAVE TRIED THIS OUT FIRST THING. NOW ITS TO LATE TO RETURN. I DECIDED TO STICK WITH THE OTHER UNIT ON NEWEGG THAT RUNS 189.00.. HOPE THIS ONE WILL WORK.
