5 out of 5 eggsFast and Easy

Pros: It works, it’s reasonably fast and its super easy.
No settings or anything, just plug in the new drive, set the local drive to clone and hit “clone”.
Even worked with a multi-partition Win7 / Ubuntu setup.

Cons: A bit more control over partitions would be helpful.

5 out of 5 eggsSimple, and Worth it !

Pros: Does what it says and more.
Simple to use, and does most everything for you.

Cons: Cable could be longer, but that's not really a problem.

Other Thoughts: Life can be so complicated....get this and make it easy for once.

1 out of 5 eggsDidn't do anything for me

Pros: it's got everything you need to do cloning

Cons: But it didn't work!!

Other Thoughts: I got Windows 8.1 on a brand new laptop and wanted to move to a Samsung EVO 250GB SSD, tried a couple of times but didn't work. After cloning is done, I switched to the SSD for boot up but Windows asked for Recovery Drive instead, so this cloning kit didn't do the job. Didn't have a chance to try it on Windows 7 though.

2 out of 5 eggsNot compatible with ASMedia 3.0 Chipset

Pros: Works with USB 2.0

Cons: A very small percentage of computer manufacturers incorporate an ASMedia 1042 or 1043 USB 3.0 Host Bus Controller. Revision 1 thru 4 of this ASMedia chipset does not adhere to the USB 3.0 standard and is not compatible with Apricorn USB 3.0 products. If your computer was manufactured with one of these chipsets, you will only be able to use your Apricorn product on a USB 2.0 port. For troubleshooting purposes you can view the manufacturer of your USB 3.0 chipset by viewing the properties of your USB 3.0 controller in the computer's Device Manager, unfortunately the revision of the chipset is not displayed..

Other Thoughts: I have an Asus Sabertooth X-79 Motherboard. The SATA to USB3.0 adapter that Corsair provides is manufactured by a company called Apricorn.: http://www.apricorn.com/product-support/upgrade-kits/sata-wire-3.html See next to last question. It would be nice of Corsair to mention that they are using a third party piece of hardware and software....A very small percentage of computer manufacturers? I don't consider Asus very small.
Just a heads up for everyone who might own a motherboard that is made by a very small percentage of computer manufacturers

5 out of 5 eggsWorked Perfectly

Pros: - Does not require external power like other adapters I've seen, it's fully powered by your computers USB port!
- Cable is bendable, not stiff like other adapters
- Never dropped the connection to my SSD while cloning
- Comes with cloning software that's compatible with Windows and Mac (although I can't comment on its ease of cloning process because I used software that came with my SSD)
- Thanks to USB 3.0 support, cloning my HDD literally took only 5 minutes for a 33GB transfer!

Cons: - Even though Newegg states clearly that this is for 2.5" drives only, I was surprised to see that the physical package I received states the following: "Works with any SSD or 3.5" hard drive with a standard SATA connector"

They need to update the packaging to reflect this product correctly, but since the function I used it for worked flawlessly I still give it 5 eggs! Just do not attempt to use with a 3.5" drive even though the package states it can!

Other Thoughts: If you need to clone a 2.5'" HDD or any SSD, this is the cable you need! Great price, known brand, awesome buy you won't regret! Thanks Newegg!

5 out of 5 eggsAs advertised

Pros: Works as advertised, just ensure the USB port you use outputs power (you will see an electricity bolt next to the port on the computer).

Very SIMPLE to use, even a cave-person can do it.

Cons: I am not sure if the con is the fault of the software, or the 5200 RPM 2.5" HDD, but the copy to my new SSD took 36 hours.

5 out of 5 eggsSuper Easy!!!

Pros: Wow! I love this cloning kit. I upgraded an OZC 120GB SSD to a Mushkin 480GB SSD. I should have done the clone a long time ago as it was so easy!! A short 2 page, 6 step instruction sheet is provided (along with the SATA to USB 3 cable and cloning software). Just plug your new drive into the provided cable and the other end into a USB 2 or USB 3 connection on your computer. Don't bother initializing/formatting your new drive as the provided data migration software will take care of it for you. Put the CD in your CD drive and run the autoexec.exe file. Select the source drive. Select the destination drive. It was probably not necessary, but I went into the advanced settings and checked the data verification box. The cloning process took about 45 min for about 100GB of data with a USB 2 connection. After cloned, I replaced the old SSD with the new one and booted up. I went into the BIOS just to be sure the new drive was recognized correctly and it was. I booted up into Windows 7 and everything was exactly as it was but now with much more room on my C: drive. Soooo easy!

Cons: None

3 out of 5 eggsCan't power up 3.5" HDD

Pros: A lot more simple than some of the other "kits" out there for cloning SSD/notebook drives.

Cons: Although the NewEgg description said nothing about it, the box says it works with "Any SSD or 3.5" hard drive with a standard SATA connector."

I have a 3.5" WD Green drive and it does nothing when I plug it into any USB port, so either its defective or it really can't supply enough juice to spin desktop 3.5" drives. Bummer.

5 out of 5 eggsquick and easy!

Pros: Makes switching from a hard drive to a SSD on a laptop quick, easy and painless. I set this up, and let it run a couple hours while I did other things, and it did it's thing with no issues at all. My two

Cons: Included software is somewhat limited if you want to do anything more than just copy an image.

Other Thoughts: This will make an exact copy of your hard drive on your SSD. If you have viruses, or have other problems with the data on the drive that you're coping, this will simply transfer those problems on to your new drive.
