nice if you have a multi input display w/ 2 computers

Pros: cheaper than a KVM if your display supports 2 or more video inputs & you have a desktop / laptop situation like me. self powered & everything works on boot!

Cons: it's like an electronic switch, so sometimes it won't totally release & switch to the channel. so i have to pull the cable (at the switch) & push the switch. plug back in & then works fine.

Other Thoughts: it just sits on top of my desk by the kb. NO drivers are needed (Macs) & really helps when you need a device attached to 2 systems, but not all the time, just when you are using that particular machine.

Pros: Small.. easy to setup... Software was good?

Cons: Needs 64Bit Vista support.. (was not really ready for Vista).. Would not work with my Konica Minolta 2400W. Not that they said it would.. just a hard printer to share. Not blaming CU for this,...

Other Thoughts: Its good for the $$$. I will us it to share some other printer or what not later... Shelved right now.

At last, keyboard switching for Macs

Pros: It just works. Installation of a small application is required to enable keyboard switching. Versions are included for Windows and and Mac (OS 9 & 10).
I received it this pm and replaced a manual usb switch we had been using. Installed the app on 2 machines (Mac OS X 10.5 and 10.4) and tried it out. Works like a charm. No more getting up to switch a USB dongle between 2 machines.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: This is the first switching device, USB or KVM, that I've seen which enables keyboard switching for Macs. Initial testing has been flawless. I'll report back if the device proves unreliable.
