5 out of 5 eggsThis fixed the black border I got around my 2nd monitor

Pros: Allows the monitor to be "processed" by the gpu as if it were connected to a dvi port. When I used the hdmi cable for my 2nd monitor (since my gpu only has 1 dvi port) I got a black border around the edge of my 2nd hdmi connected monitor. When I used this adapter it was fixed. I resorted to this because my CCC wouldn't open and this fix prevented me from having to do all sorts of driver removal tricks and possibly a clean install of my win 7.

Cons: none I can see as of yet (only had this 1 day)

3 out of 5 eggsDidn't work for Me

Pros: * Cheaper

Cons: * Didn't work with the video cards I had. Bought two active sapphires and they worked like a charm.

Other Thoughts: * Make sure you don't need active if you buy these. I made the mistake.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks but not for eyefinity

Pros: Lets me connect mini-displayport to DVI

Cons: More a limitation with my video card than anything, but I can't use the adapter along with the 2 DVI ports.

Other Thoughts: If you want to use 3+ monitors, you apparently need to go active (and shell out more $).

2 out of 5 eggsWorks but has a major drawback

Pros: This adapter does work excellently at converting video signal from my Macbook Pro's Mini-DisplayPort to a DVI cable attached to an Asus monitor. I found no flaws with the video quality, and the build and design** is quite nice.

Cons: The MAJOR drawback with this adapter is that it has terrible shielding. While plugged into my laptop, it caused so much interference that my wireless internet speeds were slowed to less than .1mbps, and was extremely unreliable. I solved the problem by coating the cable with some aluminum foil, but this shouldn't be necessary. The cable should work without any flaws like this, which it obviously doesn't. **also, it takes away from the design as it is now covered with wrinkled aluminum foil.

Other Thoughts: While this does provide flawless video signal, the reduced wi-fi connectivity quality is a significant drawback.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great for Dell XPS

Pros: Well build. Connectors are snug. Works on Dell XPS 16. Great price

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: This is not an active adapter so make sure your computer supports outputting a DVI signal via Mini Display port before you buy.

5 out of 5 eggsGets the job done

Pros: Plugged it into my Macbook Air and without any drivers/downloads it was working perfectly with no distortion on the part of the monitor it was connected to; a 23 inch 1920x1080

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: No need to buy the Apple version for 2x the price. This is well-made and gets the job done.
