1 out of 5 eggs2 D.O.A

Pros: None

Cons: Went through the process of an RMA with the hopes that it was a one time fluke. it wasn't.

Other Thoughts: At this point returning it for a refund isn't worth the time. I'll just use it as a paper weight until i throw it in next winters fire.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I keep the connector in my laptop back in case I need to hook my laptop (Lenovo Thinkpad X220) up to something with an HDMI connection. So far, I've tried several different TVs without a problem.

Also, the connector seems fairly solid. It's been banging around in the back with several other things, and so far it doesn't even have a scratch.

Cons: Even after almost a year, the cable part is still a little stiff and puts a fair amount of stress on the Displayport portion.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great, Runs Cool

Pros: * Sturdily Built.
* Excellent Video Signal.
* Excellent Audio Signal.
* Runs Cool.
* Fast Shipping.
* Low Cost.

Cons: * Surprisingly - None that I know of.

Other Thoughts: I have purchased other Display Port to HDMI adapters that were flimsy. This one is sturdy and very well made. The connector into the Display Port has a positive lock to prevent it coming out by accident. The female HDMI connector is solid too. The HDMI male connector fits in snug without binding.

Other adapters can run a little warm to hot. While this one does not stay at room temperature, it does not heat up much and I have no fears about over heating or premature failure because of that.

Both Audio and Video signal quality are excellent. I have been using this connector to send Blue Ray and standard DVD movies to a 55" Television. Signal quality is equivalent to what I would get out of a Blue Ray player with straight HDMI connector.

I got this on sale at Newegg for US$10. That was 25% less than I paid for another flimsy adapter that didn't perform as good. I highly recommend this Display Port to HDMI adapter. The only way you could do better is if it were free. I'd have happily paid full retail price for this one.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great

Pros: Video and audio come through just fine.

Cons: Laptop doesn't recognize the HDMI monitor as a sound playback device, so you have to use the monitor's volume controls. I'm a DisplayPort noob, so that situation may be expected.

Other Thoughts: This adapter enables me to use an HDMI monitor with an old Dell E6400 laptop with DisplayPort and VGA ports.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great

Pros: -Works, I haven't used it very long to prove it works over long period.
-Got a free HDMI cable with it.
-Cheap

Cons: Does not do HDCP, but what can you expect?

Other Thoughts: Still worth the money if it lasts, I'll update when it dies.

1 out of 5 eggsDisappointing

Pros: Worked perfectly when it worked.

Cons: Unfortunately it only worked for just a little over a month before it crapped out for no reason. Out of nowhere it just would not connect to a monitor.

Other Thoughts: Not worth the money if its just gonna blow out on you.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks for most everything

Pros: First thing I noticed is that the cable is well built. With something like this that you have to connect and disconnect frequently that's hugely important. Also it does work with HDMI sound which wasn't even a consideration when I bought it so I didn't check to see if it could but I was pleasantly surprised to find out. Also, a particularly strange configuration I ended up using it in was this cable to hdmi to a hdmi to dvi adapter (obviously a displayport to DVI adapter would make more sense but I worked with what I had) and it worked just fine.

Cons: When connecting it to an offband HD TV (Pixxo I think?) it did not work. Windows correctly identified it when connected but the display never switched over when trying to clone, extend, or switch the display. I'm sure the TV is partly to blame but I've connected many other HDMI devices to it without issue.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat product

Pros: Converts one of 2 Display ports into something I can actually use. My video card came equipped with 1 DVI, 1 VGA and 2 Display ports. This product was able to let me turn a display port into HDMI so I can hook my computer to my home theater system. No issues. Sends a 1080P signal through. Very happy.

Cons: None, works as stated

Other Thoughts: With the way it is packaged, it has perforated lines on the back for easy open. So no messing with trying to cut the plastic or anything.

5 out of 5 eggsWhen you absolutely gotta have another HDMI

Pros: It works. Sends video and audio. Autodetect and all other features work as they would with just a straight HDMI connect out to your view screen.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I have an Ivy Bridge board with VGA, DVI, HDMI and Displayport. I had somehow damaged my HDMI port and this adapter really saved my bacon.

Thanks!
