This inverter is powered from a 12 volt DC source and provides 120 volts AC 60Hz through two North American standard outlets to AC appliances up to 150 watts. The AC waveform is a modified sine wave (MSW) which approximates the sine wave of household electrical service. An attached DC power cord connects to a 12 VDC cigarette lighter socket. There is a USB power port that can be used to charge cell phones, PDAs and MP3 players. Safety features include automatic shutdown in the event of overheat, overload, under voltage and over voltage conditions.
This inverter has features that will prevent your battery from being completely discharged. An audible alarm will sound when the battery voltage is 10.5 volts. If you hear this alarm we recommend operating your engine for 10-20 minutes to recharge the vehicle's battery.
This review is from: WAGAN 24015 300W Smart AC 150 USB II Power Inverters
Pros: It has two 120VAC receptacles and a USB connection and the unit is small.
Cons: This unit constantly causes interference with the radio in my car. If I have it plugged in and turned on, it will always make my radio station reception go away. As soon as it is turned off, then the radio stations come back. If this is not a concern for you, then this is a great unit. I just threw mine in the trash because the unit was inexpensive and this issue is unacceptable to me.
