5 out of 5 eggsGreat Sata + Power extension cord

Pros: Strong connections. I purchased two and connected them in daisy chain. when doing a test under hd-speed utility, even when shaking and bending hard on connections, everything keeps running fine.

Cons: Wished there were a 18 or a 24 inch version of it. But not enough to loose an egg, it does what it is suppose to do perfectly.

Other Thoughts: I will cut the power side cables and hook them up to an external hard drive power supply (12v + 5v ) in order to be able to connect externally a 3.5 inch hard drive inside a laptop which i don't believe is made to power a bigger drive. I will maybe glue the middle part with epoxy to ensure the daisy chain does not split, however, the connection is already really strong. Will see. This device will be used on an old laptop with sata and IDE feature on the sata controller to test hard drives with MHDD as being on the road.

5 out of 5 eggsEnclosure,we dont need no stink'n enclosuer.

Pros: Works!

Cons: Bulky because it is well made. Use dremel tool to trim plastic if need be. I didn't.
To short. A foot or two longer would be nice.

Other Thoughts: Used it with Seagate Goflex thunderbolt dock to my sata drive. No need for enclosure. Save hundreds!
Thunderbolt on the cheap!

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Does what it's supposed to do.
Cheap

Cons: Connectors are somewhat bulky, and in my rig where space is at a premium, that's a bit of a problem.

Other Thoughts: I got this so I could mount a 2.5" drive inside a 3.5" case, however the cable wouldn't quite reach, so I got this. Unfortunately the fat connectors make it so that this won't fit. If you've got the space in your rig, go for it.
