5 out of 5 eggsInstalled Windows 98SE on an SSD!

Pros: Worked very well.
I was able to connect an SSD (Samsung 850 evo) to an old IDE board from the early Windows XP era. I chose to make the machine run Windows 98SE and has been running flawlessly. No problems with the install. Obviously, the SSD is limited by the 133 IDE bus but it is still quite quick. If you want to use a modern drive with an older board, this is the product for you.

Cons: Since it is a bit wide, my 2.5 inch SSD could not fully slide into the 2.5 to 3.5 drive mount. Not a problem, really. I am sure that it would be just fine on standard 3.5inch drives.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks as advertised

Pros: Very simple to set up, was easily able to attach a SATA HD to my IDE MBO.

Cons: It is a little bulky as others have noted on here, if space is tight in your case you may have issues installing it.

5 out of 5 eggsIt works

Pros: Very specific usage requirement. Had an old but well built NT40 computer that was powering our Inter-tel voice mail and the power supply failed. was able to find a power supply and thought i'd be preemptive on the hard disk but of course it's old style IDE. Was able to use disk duplication software to direct copy all elements of the NT40 IDE drive which had a bootable volume formatted FAT and another volume formatted NTFS. Took a few tries but then all worked correctly and now a very new SATA western digital disk is running in an old device using the converter.

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Having had poor results with IDE to SATA converters in the past, I was skeptical about this one. However, this adapter really works! Installation was easy for Vista with no problems. Packaging included a cable adapter which made it possible to use this adapter even if you had no SATA connectors on your Power Supply. I have been running a SATA Hdd for over a month with no problems. My system was an older Dell Dimension 2400 with no SATA connectors on the motherboard and no power supply SATA connectors.

Cons: Don't know of any.

Other Thoughts: Does what it claims to do...run a SATA Hdd on an IDE system!

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome product

Pros: I've worked with this product that's in a computer I've been working on. It's 100% the same product, pics match and model matches. This product never messed up the whole time I've worked with the pc. Now i did take it out of the pc. The reason I had taken it out was because the person that worked on this pc before i did didn't notice that the pc HAS sata ports, and sata connectors on power supply. So I had taken this product out of the tower and threw in a sata connector for the motherboard. It still run's fine without it. BUT as i had stated, this product Is awesome and did it thing the whole time I've had the pc and worked with it. If your in need of this product, I've suggest you get this product!

Cons: there isn't any cons i can think of this product.
