5 out of 5 eggsVery happy

Pros: USB 3.0, Heavy Cable, Solid feel, End connectors are solid hard rubber NOT 2 plastic pieces stuck together like some I have seen (that break the first time you drop it). Fast!!! Able to transfer at HDD's max speed (NOT an SSD). No more driver update than a Jump drive upon 1st plug in!!! (Win7 Pro, Win8.1 home and Win10) Works with USB2 but you will take a MAJOR speed hit!!! Shipping was QUICK!! As expected came in a bubble envelope, Packaged inside a heavy duty zip-lock bag (with manufacturers logo imposed on it- trivial but to me good packaging shows a company takes pride in their products) with manual ( which I don't think you will need and was well done if you do)

Cons: Cable may be short for some. Total length is about 20inches. Not a problem for me. Pro if you are using it for a portable solution!! NOTE: It does NOT work with full size drives (HDD or CD/DVD) USB3.0 does not provide enough power to run these. FYI: Drive in constant spin up when plugged in so I do not keep it plugged in unless it is in use. Drive spin is the only real con for me as it could contribute to drive damage/wear.

Other Thoughts: Wish I had a good HDD case to protect my drive. Very happy with this adapter. Does everything it should. Easy to use. Plug SATA end into drive, Plug USB to computer. (first run only, quick driver install) Click "My computer" and there was my external laptop drive, ready to go!! Windows even knew it was a removable HDD and not a Flash/Jump drive.

5 out of 5 eggsStarTech USB3S2SAT3CB

Pros: See "Specifications".

Cons: This is a cable competing in the price range of enclosures that are similarly rated in terms of performance and features.

Other Thoughts: This is one of the few self-powering 2.5" drive adapter cables I've found that talks the talk AND walks the walk - throughput is as specified and there is virtually no signal / power loss, and EMI shielding is excellent. If your application needs a cable only and not an enclosure, I highly recommend this.

5 out of 5 eggscool little adapter

Pros: Inexpensive, does what it is supposed to do. Very handy for cloning a mech HD to an SSD.

Cons: None, nada, zilch, bupkess.

Other Thoughts: I won't use this very often, but a good tool to have around.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works exactly as advertised, reliably and dependably.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Other websites sell this item a lot cheaper (as in $10 or $11) than Newegg. Newegg's customer service has gone down hill over the last couple years.

5 out of 5 eggsworks well

Pros: I use this a lot for imaging / and also backing up drives, it works very well, runs fast -- seems sturdy (travel with it stuffed in a bag every day).

Cons: none really

Other Thoughts: am a little worried about it wearing the connectors out on the ssd I have attached to it from constant plugging / unplugging, though I guess it isn't really designed to be an external drive bay replacement though

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Product

Pros: Great product, Just works and works well. Spend a little more on item bellow if you want to do both 2.5 and 3.5 drives, as this one does not work for 3.5 drives

5 out of 5 eggsWorks as advertised

Pros: Does what it's advertised to do, took less then 20 minutes to transfer 205gbs from my old SSD to my new Samsung 850 PRO 512gb using the included software.

Cons: None so far.

5 out of 5 eggsPractical solution to data management

Pros: Using this cable for basic data management between old and new laptop hard disks. Tried it both on HDD and SSD types and did not have any issues so far. Formatting disks, deleting and copying of files went smoothly. Works great for that purpose.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Have not tried this on larger 3.5" disks but I am guessing that not all would work since the power coming from the USB port is limited. It may or may not be able to spin the larger disks; not the cable's fault.
