Pros: None that I know

Cons: Wanted to connect Raspberry Pi to VGA monitor so ordered this. Does not work. I found out that to convert from HDMI (digital) to VGA (Analog) you need an active converter, which this is not. Wish I had done more research before flushing $20 on this.

Connect newer laptops to older monitors or projectors

Cons: This HDMI to VGA adapter didn't work out-of-the-box
I tested it on two laptops with HDMI output to a projector and a monitor and it never worked. I messed with Windows video settings and Intel video settings. The settings recognized something external was plugged in, but never got a video output on the external devices.

Other Thoughts: Apparently some work and some don't, take your own risk purchasing this cable.

Pros: Worked great as adapter from PC HDMI port to VGA monitor - exactly what I needed!

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I see others giving bad review expecting it to work in opposite direction (VGA signal to HDMI display monitor) -- don't buy it for that! It works perfect connecting to VGA monitor from computer HDMI port.

Pros: good quaulity product, connectors and cable

Cons: biggest con is it only works from HDMI to VGA and not the other way
