To Whom It May Concern:  Can this particular Insten  help me recorded Digital Video into a computer's USB ?

If what you are asking is that your digital video device (camera) has 4 pin IEEE 1394 (firewire) output and you want to transfer video over that that IEEE 1394 connection to you computer the answer is it should work but keep two things in mind.  There is always a chance for lack of compatibility although I have had no trouble in that manner with this cable.  Second there are a number of different IEEE 1394 connectors.  Most compact devices use the 4 pin connection but there is also a larger one that can care power.  Be sure that you video device looks like the one show on newegg.

I own a Canon Video Camera that has an IEEE 1394 connection and I want it to connect direct to my Macbook Pro USB port.  Will this allow me to transfer video from the camera to my computer?

I have a iMac and it didn't work for me.   However, it worked perfect with my PC laptop.  Hope that helps,  Happy Holidays.
