1 out of 5 eggsjunk

Pros: nice idea

Cons: doesn't work at all. Tried to connect just one leg of this to my Win7 computer. While you do get the initial boot up logo, picture goes away before it starts windows and doesn't come back.

Other Thoughts: Some little girl in china (or where ever these are assembled) isn't doing her job. A quick bench test of these cables needs to be done before they are shipped. Better quality control.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: Cable came within two days

Cons: Dead on Arrival (DOA)

Other Thoughts: Very disappointing to receive a dead connector. Shipping Charge refund policy even more dissapointing!!

I tried this on two different computers and the cable would not even carry signal through one of the connections, never mind both....and yes, both computers have working DVI output cards, connected to the monitors through DVI cables. Even with unplugging the computer completely.

5 out of 5 eggsNO VGA

Pros: Does the job of duplicating you're primary display.

Cons: You can not run a VGA display through this cable!

Other Thoughts: I needed to run 1 display in DVI and a second in VGA. I thought this might do the job but it does not.
It will only work with 2 DVI monitors.

4 out of 5 eggsDon't confuse Dual Link with dual display...

Pros: Well constructed. Does exactly what it's supposed to. I didn't want to spend the money on a video distribution AMP to split a single DVI output to an LCD projector. I was a little worried about whether or not the signal quality would be noticeably affected, but it looks perfect even after a 20’ run of cable.

Cons: Wish it was available in black. It would also be nice if they were more clear about what this cable will and won't allow users to do. It does exactly what I expected it to do, but I see plenty of reviews from people that thought this would let them have two independent displays.

Other Thoughts: Don't get this confused with specialized adapters from various PC and video card manufacturers that use a single specialized connector on the video card and split it to two DVI or VGA connectors that then allow you to configure two displays independently (e.g. extended desktop). This will NOT allow you to do that.
It WILL allow you to have two "cloned" displays as long as both displays can support the same resolution. Simply stated: You will see EXACTLY the same thing on both displays.
If you’re looking to send the same DVI source signal to two displays (or other devices), this is the best option short of a DVI video distribution amp. If you’re thinking you can shove this into the DVI connector on the back of your PC and get the same capability as having dual outputs on your video card, this isn’t going to do what you want. Scoot on over to the video card section and look for a new video card that supports dual displays.

1 out of 5 eggsDoes not work, period

Pros: Uh, none?

Cons: Does not work!!

Other Thoughts: It won't even work with just one connection going through it. It worked initially (just once), but the display was fuzzy and there were colors scattered all over the screen. The monitor than just said "No signal" It was the same with both monitors.

Will attempt to return.

2 out of 5 eggsIt's Ok

Pros: Looks cool.

Cons: see "other thoughts"

Other Thoughts: I originally purchased this so I can connect it to my monitor for the PC and the X-box 360. so when I have the Xbox 360 off I can use the monitor and vice-versa. it did not works as I had hoped cannot split between 2 signals as i thought it would. I gave it 2 stars because its a paperweight now. Im sure it will serve someone elsa a different purpose.

4 out of 5 eggsOne-way Split

Pros: Sturdy construction

Cons: None if used as intended (see comment)

Other Thoughts: I can't speak to using this cable to drive two monitors off one computer because that's not why I got it. My intention was to share a monitor between two computers.
You can't hook up two computers to one monitor using a DVI 'Y' cable because the DVI connection will back feed power from the active computer to the inactive one. You must use a DVI KVM switch.
