4 out of 5 eggsWhat a time saver.

Pros: Does what it says it does: brings two standard SATA ports to the back of the case. I fix/upgrade computers on the side and this is such a time saver. Whenever I need to clone a hard drive, transfer large amounts of data, or run a virus scan on a client’s computer, I simply take out their hard drive and connect it to the back of my computer (along with an external power adapter). It is so much easier (and faster) than having to open up my case and connecting it to an internal SATA port. The connectors are standard SATA connectors (not eSATA), which means I can use inexpensive SATA cables and get the full benefits of the interface (ie transfer speeds) without the need of an expensive external eSATA enclosure or USB 3.0 adapter.

Cons: Hard to complaint at this price point, but the cables could be a couple of inches longer. I wanted to use the upper most slot in my case since it is not used at tall (the motherboard does not have a connector that utilizes that slot), but the cables were not long enough to go around my graphics card. Simply had to use a slot below my graphics card, but now I cannot use that PCI slot for something else (not that I was planning two anyway). I will dock one egg because of this and because… (read below).

Other Thoughts: Not really a con, but DO NOT USE SATA CABLES THAT HAVE THE LOCKING METAL CLIPS. I used SATA cables that have the metal clips at the end and they went in after I used a bit of force, but would not come out afterwards. The openings on the bracket itself could be just a tiny bit bigger (even half a mm would be help), since the clip gets stuck in them. I had to literally take the entire thing out from my case, separate the connectors from the PCI bracket, then use a flathead screwdriver to press on the clips in order to be able to take out the SATA cables. At one point I was pressing so hard that I thought I would break the connector. Save yourself the hassle and just use SATA cables that do not have the metal locking clip at the end; those connect and disconnect without any issues.

1 out of 5 eggsBeware

Pros: None

Cons: The external connector is NOT an eSATA connector. It is a female SATA connector, the same as is on the motherboard. An eSATA cable will not fit this connector. It is useless for external drives.

Other Thoughts: I gave one egg only because I could not give it ZERO.

3 out of 5 eggsBe Careful!

Pros: Internal SATA cable connectors are a good length for most standard computers.

Cons: Equipment description is misleading when it says "Internal SATA to External SATA". External SATA = eSATA, but this is a SATA to SATA M/F connector.

Other Thoughts: If you have an unused back panel slot on your PC, installing this gives you some options to connect other SATA devices outside the box.

5 out of 5 eggsA simple rear bracket.

Pros: It moves 2 SATA internal connections to the case back slot for 2 external SATA connections.

Cons: None that I know of.

Other Thoughts: The connector cable could have been 2 In. longer but with some rerunning ow the wires it is now working.

5 out of 5 eggsGReat Service

Pros: Does exactly what it says, extends SATA outside without eSATA.

Cons: Wires a little short.

Other Thoughts: This got lost in the mail, but Newegg sent out another ASAP. That's why I keep buying from them, if there is a problem they take care of it.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect!

Pros: Ability to extend SATA connection outside the case for devices that dont take eSATA. In my case this was perfect for flashing my CDROM on my xbox.

Cons: Its a shame people rate this low because THEY CAN NOT READ THAT THIS IS NOT eSATA.

Other Thoughts: Disconnected one of the plugs from the plate and used it as a SATA extender to mod my Xbox360 CDROM. Never have to disassemble the xbox case again.

5 out of 5 eggsSATA II to SATA II Connections

Pros: Adequately moves the internal SATA I / SATA II from a Motherboard or Raid device // Controller card to enable a user to connect external SATA I / SATA II devices that do not support eSATA Interfaces. Worked really well in an odd SAS build that used SATA II internal interfaces.

Cons: Don't give a product a bad rating due to your misunderstanding of its usefulness. Nor should you do so because you failed at reading all of the products specifications.

Other Thoughts: If you are going to give a product a low rating Please read the Name / Title and the Description for the product first. Indeed this Sata Bracket is for the SATA / SATA II Internal connector type (Internal), it is specified in the products title and description.

1 out of 5 eggsNOT eSata

Pros: Useful for non-compliant external sata devices.

Cons: NOT eSata. The external ports are regular sata type which was used before eSata become standardized.

Other Thoughts: I should have noticed this, but I didn't read carefully enough.

2 out of 5 eggspig in a poke

Pros: This will move your Mobo SATA slots (up to 2) to the back panel. I'm sure uses can be thought of for it. PC tech cowboys probably like having loose open hard drives running on their tables.

Cons: This is not SATA to eSATA.

Other Thoughts: You probably want the Rosewill RC-202.
