5 out of 5 eggsQuick Connect & Go

Pros: I've owned this for several years and use it frequently. Its always worked, sometimes it takes both USB connectors to power up the drive other times it does not. Just depends what I'm connecting to, direct to PC/Mac or a hub etc.

Cons: Like others have mentioned it did not power up 3.5" drives; a Seagate 1.5tb drive. But really that's not what i purchased it for.

5 out of 5 eggsExactly as expected!

Pros: Just connect and go. Power/Activity LEDs.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Most suitable for quick/temporary connection, rather than long term use.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: This works exactly as advertised.

It cannot power 3.5 inch drives because it is powered only by USB which only has 5v, 3.5 inch drives require 5v and 12v. It also only needs to have one of the two USB cable plugged in for standard 2.5 inch drives to work (power and data come across on the main one unlike some other enclosures).

It also works without having to put the drive in the "enclosure" so you can swap between multiple 2.5 inch drives without having to take time swapping them between enclosures like many other enclosures.

Cons: None at all.

Other Thoughts: People need to read the description and understand how devices work before rating a product down due to their ignorance.

Even though it does not specifically state that it does not work with 3.5 inch drives, it does not state that it does and if you noticed that it does not have an external power source you could have put two and two together and realized USB does not provide the 12v for a full sized drive.

5 out of 5 eggsIt Works

Pros: It works fine with 2.5 inch SATA drives...as advertised.

Connector has red power LED and blue "drive busy" LED. Both are not too bright and not too dim.

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: Rubber boot is snug around drive. I think that is "a good thing".

Just for fun...with both USB cables plugged in it would power up a Seagate 3.5 inch SATA drive, but the drive could not be accessed under Win7. That could be an issue of the drive's partition table not being understood by Win7 or the drive not truly being "hot swappable". Of course the rubber boot will not fit the drive. So using this device with 3.5 inch drives might be "problematic"...YMMV.

I would buy this again if needed.

4 out of 5 eggsworks good

Pros: works great for getting data off hdd's from dead notebooks

Cons: none yet

Other Thoughts: to all the people complaining that it will not work on 3.5 inch drives..... it says in the description, 2.5 inch hdd.

3.5 inch hdds require 12 volts, 2.5 inch require 5. usb ports are only 5 volts. therefore it will not work with 3.5 inch hdds.

5 out of 5 eggsused for 2.5 sata drive western digital black scorpio

Pros: worked as i needed to, i was worried about it being powered through a usb, but it was no worries, just plug and go. Worked on xp home edition computers and windows 7 ultimate.

Cons: none really.

Other Thoughts: good money for the value, no worries about overheating the drive since its just a rubber sleeve enclosure.

4 out of 5 eggsNot bad for light-duty use

Pros: Can't beat the price if you need to hook up a SATA notebook drive quickly via USB.... worked great, had the HDD from a dead laptop attached to my desktop within about 90 seconds from opening the package.

Cons: This is not something to transport everywhere-- the enclosure's open on one side, and is prone to coming off the drive if you're not careful.
