1 out of 5 eggsJunk

Pros: none

Cons: Drove 30 miles to a customers business to find that the cable was faulty. Apparently Nippon Labs do not test their products before they ship them out. Sadly, the postage would cost more for the RMA than the product itself.

4 out of 5 eggsIt works

Pros: I brought my tech level down to 3 (normally 4) on this one because I'm not too experienced with ESata and could be wrong in some areas but this is what I have encountered so far. ESata can be weird sometimes (I have rarely used it though) and for some reason I have compatibility issues now and again, don't always blame the cable. This brought my transfer rate up by about 50% over my fire wire cable using an external Western Digital (no benchmarks ran, just a guesstimate). I found that to be HUGE when completing backups so I am very happy with it. I think I need to make some adjustment in the UEFI to get the ESata to wake up the drive which was not an issue using Firewire (I believe that this might not be possible but have not confirmed). Sturdy construction, worth the money, just click the "add to cart" button.

Cons: Stiff cord for external use but I believe the is a ESata standard.

Other Thoughts: I need to read up on ESata to see if it will wake up my external. Firewire is slower and will wake up the drive and also be daisy chained (multiple drives wired in series). Speed is important though and I would take this over the fire wire (I can push a power button to turn the drive on when I complete a backup).

5 out of 5 eggsGood ones

Pros: These cables are nice and pliable. The other ESATA cables are either too stiff or snap if sharply bent.

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggs3GB Maximum transfer rate

Pros: Installed like it should for me. May not for everyone as the width of the connector can be a problem in some applications.

1 out of 5 eggseSATA - non-Fanboy

Pros: *Cool color
*Good Length

Cons: *eSATA

Other Thoughts: eSATA has a serious issue. Some cables work on some connectors and vice-versa. I have trimmed down cable ends to make them compatible, I have trimmed alignment tabs, I have done it all. eSATA would be better if there was some consistency with the connectors and ports. When it works it works good, when it does not work, it does not work at all.
