1 out of 5 eggsBroke after a few months

Pros: Small

Cons: It fell apart after a few months. I had it in my laptop bag, pulled it out to use about 2 or 3 times a week, and it lasted about 6 months. One day I was hooking it up and it fell apart.

1 out of 5 eggsMippon Labs Displayport to HDMI Adpater-OEM

Pros: It does what it say it will as advertised. It's a passive device that seems to be quite well constructed

Cons: If you want and need a passive adapter that goes to displayport to HDMI, this will certainly do the job. It shows no indication of falling apart.

I might have given this a 4 or 5 star rating because it does what is advertised and is well built --BUT-- It has barbs that pop out that grip the displayport tenaciously, if you trip over the HDMI cord, and it doesn't come out of the adapter --strange they didn't put barbs on that end as well, you yank your computer onto the floor! Yes, there is a place to push to raise these barbs up, but I'm tempted to a file and remove them entirely. Just a really, really bad design feature

Other Thoughts: If you just want something that works, can even permanently fastened to your computer, it's as easy to get out of your computer as some childproof caps are to open, then you should be happy with this

It's also said to have a led indicator, it it does, it's very well hidden.

3 out of 5 eggsWONT WORK FOR 3RD DISPLAY

Pros: It works fine for Video Audio IF you are only using 2 displays at a time.

Cons: This doesn't advertise if it is a passive or Active converter and it is in fact a passive which sucks in my case. I wanted to support 3 monitors at once but with this it doesn't support a 3rd monitor.
This works fine as a converter but ONLY if you don't want more than 2 monitors working at a time. 2 eggs off for misleading.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks!

Pros: Smaller than most dongles. Gold plated contacts. Supports video and audio pass through when connected to my DisplayPort++ port.

Cons: The dongle design is prone to breaking due to how far it protrudes from the back of the computer. Less than ideal if the back of your computer is close to contacting anything.

Other Thoughts: After reading the reviews I was concerned that I bought an adapter without audio support. Another reviewer posted that this doesn't support audio. After trying it out on my new HTPC I can confirm that it does work with both audio and video.

That said, I purchased another DP to HDMI adapter that has the "short cable" design so that I won't break it and also give me more clearance on the back of the computer.

1 out of 5 eggsNo Audio!

Pros: Small, probably works fine for video. Gold plated connectors.

Cons: No Audio support. More expensive than other adapters that support audio.

Other Thoughts: Not worth the time or money to send it back to NewEgg for a refund. I assumed it supported audio. My fault, should have read the reviews before ordering it. Saw 5 eggs and added it to my cart.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great

Pros: fits perfect

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I had a long HDMI to DP adapter and it sag in when plugged in. I switched to the shorter one and now cable fits nice and tight. I would recommend this to anyone using a long HDMI TO DP connector.

4 out of 5 eggsNo Audio; Video only

Pros: Video conversion works fine. Small adapter.

Cons: No Audio. I've tried with multiple graphics cards and laptops, both direct to the TV and through an AV receiver. Doing some research, dp2hdmi adapters can be video only, or video+audio. This one is video only. Ugh. Didn't even realize that a dp2hdmi could be video only before I bought it, and I see no mention of it in the product details. Not a big deal for my application, but how many pennies are they really saving by not having audio support?

Other Thoughts: My TV recognized the 1080p signal through the dp2hdmi adapter as slightly different than a direct hdmi 1080p signal, and defaulted to a different overscan setting. Changing my TV setting to "full pixel" let me see the entire screen. It boggles my mind why digital TVs receiving a 1080p signal think they need to apply overscan by default. If you don't see the whole picture, check your TV/monitor settings.
