1 out of 5 eggsTotal Garbage

Pros: The price? Thats about it.

Cons: Caused crashes when launching any game. I replaced 75% of the parts in my pc before I was able to trace the problem to this faulty cable. I have no idea how this cable was able to cause so much havoc but this is the last nippon labs cable I ever buy.

Other Thoughts: Total garbage. Spend the extra money on something that wont make you pull your hair out.

1 out of 5 eggsDidn't work for UHD

Pros: Probably works at 1080P but I didn't test that

Cons: I couldn't get a stable picture at 3440x1440 on a Dell U3415W driven by an Nvidia GTX 980 nor could we get this cable to lock with a GTX 780ti driving a UHD (4K) Samsung monitor. I could get a picture on the Dell but it would drop, then lock, then drop again.

I returned it for a refund. What good is Display Port if you can't run at resolutions beyond 1080P. May as well use HDMI...

1 out of 5 eggsBad cable....

Pros: Plenty of length, the cable ends fit snugly... OEM...

Cons: Didn't support the hertz my current monitor can display, flickers at times, didn't want to display the POST consistently while booting up the PC, ended up returning the cable for a refund...

Other Thoughts: Quality control maybe an issue, so be sure to check your cables when you receive this one to make sure there are no defects. I thought it was my monitor at first and then I switched to another display cable I had laying around and my monitor vastly improved!

3 out of 5 eggsAlmost 2 years after purchase, have doubts

Pros: OEM Packaging, easy to install, nice clear picture versus VGA by far.

Good cable if one has older gen monitors (pre-2010 to 2011) & video cards with a Displayport connection of the same era.

Cable has been sturdy for nearly 2 years, will seem stiff for a few months, will break in & not seem as much so, yet will remain securely in place. Never once has the jack to the PC or monitor came out. Locking tabs prevents this.

Cons: Not 10.8 Gbit/sec as advertised, closer to 1.62 Gbit/sec x4 for a total of 6.48 Gbit/sec.

Unacceptable transfer rate for this type of cable to be connected to a MSI branded GTX 960 that was released this very year (2015), no matter how it's sliced. Monitor purchased with cable was an ASUS VE248Q that I got on promo, today still sells for $399.99 on this very site site & that's minus a $200 promo. For a 24" monitor to command that price, it has to be fairly up to date & has Full HD 1080p Graphics.

Other Thoughts: Would never had known this had I not read an article a couple of nights back, Displayport 1.2 was approved on 12/22/2009 & placed in use in 2010, three full years later. The effective band rate is supposed to be 17.28 Gbit/sec total, divided by 4 lanes, would be 4.32 Gbit/sec & am running a very current MSI branded GTX 960.

This is an update to my former review of the cable on 01/20/2014, 'As Good as the $50 Lookalikes'. Now I know why the difference in pricing, though still I won't pay $50 for this cable, maybe $25 tops, if it can deliver the promised rate of the cable, which by now is higher than 10.8 Mbit/sec.

Three eggs knocked off for not delivering the promised speed, another added back for being far better than VGA. I'd just had went with the HDMI cable that I already had I knew this, purchased it because I received a monitor with a Displayport connection for Christmas in 2013 & figured not to waste a good port, after reading favorable reviews for DP technology.

You've been warned. rarely do I return two years after product purchase & post a 2nd review unless it's extremely great after years of use or turned out to be a sour lemon. With that in mind, my review above ought to show which one it is.

1 out of 5 eggsJunk

Pros: It looks like a displayport cable

Cons: It can't keep a signal and keeps disconnecting my monitor over and over again and then the image is all messed up. It didn't even have the latching mechanism that it's supposed to have.

3 out of 5 eggsNo 144hz at 2560x1440

Pros: Ran great with my Asus VH248QE for 1080p@144hz.

Cons: Bought an Asus Rog Swift and the cable would not allow me to go past 2560x1440@85hz, the monitor is capable of 144hz at that resolution. One time that I plugged the cable in, I got 6 bit signal instead of 8 bit, and it ran at 100hz but was all weird looking. I used the Displayport cable that came with the monitor and 2560x1440@144hz worked fine multiple times. On to find a 15ft cable that will get 144hz at 2560x1440, hopefully.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Price & FT

Cons: Written below.

Other Thoughts: I have only owned this cable one month and It died on me. Stopped reading to my monitor. Ended up buying a Rosewill DP cable works great. Don't waste your money on this cable. Cable was used on a ASUS 144Hz VG248QE.
