3 out of 5 eggslow quality

Pros: Its a cord

Cons: The plastic used in these cords are not very good. The dvi screw has a plastic turn cap (like any dvi cord) but it was stripped. . . . bummer. I would not recommend this product. spend 5 more bucks and get something much better.

4 out of 5 eggsWhat you expect

Pros: +Simple, it isn't over burdened in width or near the mini-display plug making it easy to plug and forget without the worry of it tugging out like a heavy adapter might.
+Cheap, a third of the price of some of the adapters I have seen that don't even support some of Mini-Displays functions.

Cons: -Large DVI head. It is larger than most by a fair bit, if your DVI slot has a housing around it designed for standard sized plugs this may not fit easily into your screen.
>Likewise if you have a small opening for cable management that it has to run through you'll need to do it display-end first or it simply will not fit.

-Lightweight plastic DVI Cover. Not as solid as I would hope but not worth worrying over. Unless you plan on constantly removing and replugging it from your monitor it will do just fine.

-Keep in mind this is a 3-ft cord. Do not buy if your screen is not directly beside your video output, it will not reach and you do not want to put tension on your cords, especially considering the small port does not screw into your card.

Other Thoughts: Just got the cord and have started using it for my PC. I bought the AMD HD 7870 graphics card from Gigabyte and it holds two Mini-Display ports on the back. Considering the age of this port there isn't much out there in the way of good cords yet. This is far better than any adapter I have used so far, no more heavy boxes or USB plugs to deliver its power.

5 out of 5 eggsIt works

Pros: It works and my 21" 1680x1050 monitor works as expected. I bought this specifically for my Surface Pro.

Cons: Cord length leaves no wiggle room for desks. Great for a Surface Pro.

Other Thoughts: The cord is just right for devices that'll share desk space next to a monitor. Forget about hooking up a floor tower with this.

3 out of 5 eggsCable by any other name is still a cable

Pros: Cheap

Cons: Cheaply made - 1 of the 2 in my order was defective, not saying that 50% of the cables are defective but that in my case I got gypped because in order to get a replacement I have to ship back the defective cable at a personal shipping cost that nearly equals that of the original purchase price.

Other Thoughts: Bought two cables to hook up a new monitor to iMac to extend the desktop. I unboxed the first monitor and hooked it up and got nothing, monitor just went to sleep. I was thinking there was an issue with the iMac but found everything set right. Went for the next easy thing to test and changed the cable with other that I purchased and viola! Second cable worked fine which means the first cable is bad. Requested an RMA for the defective cable and the cost of shipping is almost that of the cable. Hmmm, seems a little unfair to have to pay to send back something that should just be thrown in the trash.

5 out of 5 eggsAMD 7970

Pros: Works good with what I need to do. Graphics card has 1DVI,1HDMI and 2 Mini display ports. Hard to connect my monitor without another adapter if I use HDMI now there is no problem. Going to buy another 3 so I can get all my cables better managed for the displays I have and will have.

Cons: Only problem to me is the dvi end seems a little cheap. But if you are not yanking on the cable or messing with the ends all the time this isn't going to be a problem. Just seems they could use a little better housing is all.

Other Thoughts: White color only that I could find. Prefer black but this is just a preference.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks like it should.

Pros: - Reasonably Priced
- No need for mDP/TB Adapters

Cons: DVI end has plastic housing instead of more sturdier molded, but not worth subtracting an egg.

Other Thoughts: Used on my 2012 Mac Mini's Thunderbolt / microDisplay Port to avoid the HDMI port issues.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes the Job

Pros: I use this to connect my Macbook Pro 15" Early 2011 to my BenQ GW2250. Works completely fine, picture quality is superb, just gets the job done. No point in buying a cord more expensive than this one.

Cons: 3ft cord isn't terribly long. If you plan on keeping your Macbook right next to your monitor as a secondary display, it's the perfect length though. If you plan on stashing your Macbook underneath your desk or off to the side, think about getting the longer 6ft cord.

Other Thoughts: If you're looking to connect your Macbook Pro/Mac/etc. model from the past few years, to a DVI monitor, this is your cord.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great!

Pros: -Works with Thunderbolt Port on my 2011 iMac 21.5"
-3 ft is enough for an external monitor next to each other
-Crisp Clear Picture
-Quality Product for the Price!

Cons: -DVI plug end is rather large and just fits, it is a hairline away from hitting the monitor stand. Not so much of a con though.
