1 out of 5 eggspoor quality, cannot rely on

Pros: it works. maybe once in a while

Cons: it doesn't work most of the time. usually what it does it disconnect after a few minutes of normal usage. You have to unplug and plug it back in for it to recognize and reconnect and still your chances of getting it on the screen is 1 in 4

2 out of 5 eggsPoor QA

Pros: A good size, and a very useful cable type. Much nicer to use than a male mini-display to female HDMI adapter + HDMIcable

Cons: I own 2. One works great. The other worked OK for a month or so, then started showing a lot of noise, and now doesn't work at all. So, this _can_ be a great product, but it looks like some of them shipped that weren't so great.

Other Thoughts: From playing around with the cable while it was still partially working, I think the failure was in the HDMI plug housing. Applying some tension to the plastic molding around this plug removed the noise from the cable, for a while.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works fine with my xps 13. Very discreet/portable. I hate having dongles.

Cons: Slightly larger hdmi end, but not a deal breaker. Check the pictures and decide for yourself. May not fit in monitors with a crowded hdmi interface.

Other Thoughts: I bought 3ft and 15ft. 3ft works fine, but 15ft has problem with higher resolutions. Not sure if they carry audio, but that is not why I got them.

1 out of 5 eggsDoes not work

Pros: It is cheap, and it is available in a 3.3ft size so as not to have too much extra cable you don't need.

Cons: The product fits in an HDMI and Mini DisplayPort plug, but does not pass a signal. It does not work for what I bought it for. It was a waste of time and money.

Other Thoughts: I tried this on two monitors and two computers with mini-display port output. Both the HDMI ports work with other cables & hardware, and both the mini-displayports work with different cables/hardware. It is clear that the cable does not work.

I read other negative reviews and wanted to make sure it was not user error that lead to their issues, and since the cable was cheap enough I bought it to test the theory. It is clear that the cable is the problem.

Additionally, another adapter I bought manufactured by Nippon Labs (a DisplayPort->DVI adapter) also does not work. Nippon Labs is 0/2 in providing me with a product that works as advertised.

5 out of 5 eggsSimply works

Pros: Does exactly what it's supposed to do - connects my MacBook Air to external monitor/TV with audio signal all over one cable.

Cons: none, perhaps with the exception that the cable is a bit stiff.

Other Thoughts: At least on a MacBook Air (2012 model) I could not replicate the boot problem of a previous reviewer.

Pros: Quick and easy way to add second display to my iMac

Cons: iMac refuses to boot when this is connected. It only works when connected after boot.
