1 out of 5 eggs"no software to install "?

Pros: ?

Cons: Yes

Other Thoughts: Given the number of reasons they have for throwing out a review, I am afraid to write anything.

The main problem is I needed an hardware only solution with no software to install and that did not involve thumb drives. This has thumb drives built into the cable, rendering it useless to me, and there is definitely software to install. If the overview and specifications had been accurate about what this is, I could have saved both time and money.

I wish I could rate it zero eggs.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat but can use Installation trick

Pros: Works great and you DO NOT need admin privileges.

Cons: Great device but can have installation problems

Other Thoughts: When it is first plugged in there should be a wormhole splash screen and a wormhole icon should show up in the tray. If this does not happen, fire up explorer and look for CD Drive - Wormhole. Double click on the WHLoader.exe file that shows up and then you should be good to go. (Forget the previous nonsense that I wrote about cable ends, etc)

5 out of 5 eggsGreat product!

Pros: First, the Wormhole switch does NOT need Admin privileges on either machine to install or operate. It provides a KM switch along with the possibility of copying files and clipboard contents from one machine to the other. It is a nearly perfect workaround for transferring files between machines that are not on the same network.

Cons: Somewhat confusing to set up - no real instructions were included so fiddling was necessary.

The monitors are not shared.

Other Thoughts: I fiddled until I got the thing to work on a dual monitor Win 7 computer and another Win 7 box without having Admin privileges on either. I +think+ that the magic ritual is to plug the end with the model and serial number into only one machine - it should appear as "CD Drive - Wormhole" in Explorer - then double click on WHLoader.exe on the drive to run it. A Wormhole splash screen should then pop up and you should have a Wormhole icon in the tray. Remove the dongle from the first computer and do the same in the other computer. Finally, plug the free end into the first computer and you should have a connection. It could be that switching the dongle is not necessary but I can't test that anymore. Eventually I got it to work without using Alt-S to switch machines.

At one time or another on one installation I had to go to manage devices and install it from there but I don't think think that it is usually necessary (or possible without Admin)

At some point I installed a software update, but I'm not sure that it helped.

5 out of 5 eggsworks as advised

Pros: It works as advertised. Very easy to use.
Allows to scroll mouse between the 2 desktop screens. Using the same keyboard and mouse, Simply move cursor to the side of the monitor to have cursor/keyboard access to 2nd computer.
Copy pasting across the 2 desktops is simple
Gives option to use alt+s to quickly switch the mouse/keyboard functions between the 2 computers.
Flexibility to have 2nd computer/laptop to be on left, right, top, bottom

It's cheap little tool best setup is to use between laptops or desktop + laptop. That way you have the different monitor outputs

Cons: When plugging in the device/usb it will create 2 extra "virtual drives" on your computers.

Though functionality is similiar, it is not a kvm. its KM notice minus the V for video. Using the device does not project the 2nd computer onto the 1st computer/monitor.

Other Thoughts: Using with windows 7 desktop and windows 7 HP Elitebook.
on my destkop the autorun/run had to install the software.
on the laptop windows installed the drivers, but did not launch the program. So I had to run it from using the "cd drive wormhole" created.
One drive is most likely is the install software. and the other is the link it creates between the 2 computers.
There is some features i haven't tried yet such as shuffle which I thihnk allows sync files between the 2 computers.

In the manual it mentions windows to android, but I have not tried this feature yet.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing!

Pros: Basically turns two PCs into a dual monitor setup, with one mouse/keyboard used across both, and drag and drop file transfer! If you ever have two computers on your desk, get this!

Cons: The android driver sucks battery on my Note 3.

Other Thoughts: Also, if you use this with an android phone with a USB OTG adapter, it can share the clipboard between the PC and Android device.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for home!

Pros: Does what it was designed for.
I wish I had as simple of a solution for swapping computers and monitors too!

Cons: I stopped using it at work, because the software is labeled "Wormhole"

Which my IT department thinks is a virus, and there was a lot of backlash.

Other Thoughts: I enjoy the product very much.

1 out of 5 eggsJUNK

Pros: Worked perfect for about 3 times.

Cons: On about the 4th time of using it, I plugged it in and it forced my system in to sleep mode. When it awoke up, it crashed a project I was working on for days and I lost a ton of work. I had to wiggle the usb cord for it to recognize and when it finally did, the auto play pop up became unresponsive. As I unplugged the usb cord, I noticed how cheap the plastic housing was. It literally fell apart as I was holding it. The inside solder points looked ok and the small chip was fine so I lifted up the chip to see the underside and it snapped like a potato chip. I bought this on a daily deal so it wasn't too much of a loss but I can't believe how fast this thing broke and how cheap the snap on plastic housing is. I am livid because I need it right now. I won't buy this same one again that's for sure...

Other Thoughts: I have never been so angry at an inanimate object before. If I thought it would do any good, I would punch it right in the mouth.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing and Amazingly Effective

Pros: * Essentially bonds two independent Windows PCs, allowing them to operate as 1 dual-display desktop, as LAN connected separate PCs, and in other variations.
* Works as advertised: Tested with (combos of each below)
- Windows 8.1 Pro w/Media Center (32-bit)
- Windows 8.1 (64-bit)
- Windows 7 Home Premium (32-bit)
- Windows 7 Enterprise (64-bit)
* Able to tether any recent iteration of Windows to any other recent version of WIndows
* (Almost) Plug and play - provided AutoPlay for USB devices is enabled, you simply have to click okay to the prompt on each PC and you're up and running
* KVM+ - Not only does it work as a traditional KVM switch, allowing you to share a mouse/keyboard across two PCs, but it also allows you to Copy + Paste across devices
* Easily configurable, with KVM and sharing functions ready on the fly via the notification icon (right click to change)

Cons: * Commentors decrying the inability to work with Mac/OSX - there is a different version of this product specifically for that! Search for the JUC300 or JUC500 version instead.
* USB 2.0 (not 3.0)
