5 out of 5 eggsData Hubs are handy for CAT5

Pros: Very easy to use. I ran some rather long cable runs at church between the stage and the sound booth... Ooops, I was about 20' too short back at the booth! So I needed something to basically splice the CAT5/6 cable with. I've seen these used in big phone systems at church and work and stuff and didn't realize that these are simply used to splice/terminate network cables. The metal box and plastic connectors seem sturdy enough.

Cons: The only downside was the way they mark how the cables are attached. For whatever reason the instruction label seems to make you want to connect it backwards. But once I realized my mistake (or theirs??), it was easy to undo the cable and pop it back on. In fact, it's so easy that fixing my mistake was like a one minute job. So just be sure to pay attention to which color code you follow (there are two standards).

Pros: Put in a structured wire cabinet and ran Cat6 throughout the house. This worked perfect. Even fed PoE through this and it works great.

Cons: None that I've found
