1 out of 5 eggsWorst keystone jacks I have used

Pros: None

Cons: Worst keystone jack I have ever used. The wires have to be threaded into tiny pathways on a hinged cover, then the wires are pressed into the contacts by closing the cover. The first wires tend to jump out of the groves as you work to place the rest of the wires in. As others have mentions it takes much longer to use this jack than jacks designed to be used with punch tools. This device includes a "tool" to help press in the wires but the tool is a random piece of plastic that is not really suited to the job. The first jack I tested had to be redone as some of the wires did not connect.

Other Thoughts: I have over twenty years experience installing network wiring. I will be going back to my local supplier for the next project.

4 out of 5 eggsDoes what it says it does.

Pros: Cheaper then standard punch down, especially cheaper in bulk.

Cons: Actually takes longer then a standard punch down to wire. You have to thread the wires in a tight. While not completely tool less it still requires some dikes to trim the excess cable and a flat head screwdriver really helps for pushing the wires into the correct areas.

Other Thoughts: Cheaper then standard punch down but adds an extra 15-20 minutes of hassle wiring them. They do work well after being wired but well yea.

1 out of 5 eggsTool less, yea right.

Pros: Fits in the standard wall socket

Cons: Is not tool less. You have to use a tool to get the wires in position and to trim the ends, making it no different that most keystones and you have less room to work with than standard keystones.

1 out of 5 eggsThese suck!

Pros: The price was a little bit cheaper than regular punch down keystone jacks.

Cons: These are the absolute worst, routing the wires is a pain. When you go to snap it down, it doesn't cut off the remaining wire. So then you have to go and snip all of the remaining wire off. I would much rather spend a quarter of the time using a standard punch down jack. PLEASE DO NOT BUY THESE!!!!

Other Thoughts: I promise that you will absolutely regret buying these jacks. Buy the regular punch downs and you will be satisfied.

5 out of 5 eggsgood jack

Pros: easy to wire up - just make sure you know which wiring standard is the precedent for your house/office. consistency is key. worked great for my home networking project. comes with a zip tie to secure the shielded cable into the housing - nice!

Cons: not really a legit con but b/c I have ape hands so they were a little tricky to seat the wires before punching them down. however I was able to coerce the cables in their proper pin placement with a little patience & persistence!

5 out of 5 eggsWorks once you know how to prepar/setup wire

Pros: I am a novice, but once you figure out how to setup the wire (pre setup of wire [opposite of the metal] then snapping [metal side with lid where wires are pre setup] with black handle that comes with it) then it works like a charm. No tool is needed.

Cons: No instruction, but has the color codes. Note: Type A is for new network install. Type B is for traditional existing networking.

Other Thoughts: I would recommand it.
