Excellent product, highly recommended
- Pros: Excellent product, works flawlessly with XP, Vista (32/64) and windows 2003. The supplied drivers allow a great deal of flexibility with port configurations.
- Cons: None.
Nice
- Pros: Worked Great on my X10 Module - Sturdy - long enough and great software. Fast and accurate shipping from Newegg.
- Cons: None
- Other Thoughts: Great software utility which I had to use. X10 was very picky before the utility but if I lose the connection between boots or whatever the utility fixes all.

Works
- Pros: Works
- Cons: None
Not for what I needed
- Pros: High quality piece of equiptment. Does exactly what it says.
- Cons: I needed it to connect a serial Intuos1 to a Win7 machine. Even thought I read multiple people saying this was the only adapter that would do it, I was not able to to even after trying all options and combinations of drivers. No fault of the equiptment, it's a limitation in Wacom's drivers apparently, the adapter DOES see the tablet in Win7.
Does NOT work with QuickBasic
- Pros: supposed to offer best compatibility??? 3 days ago, before purchase, I called in to keyspan to check compatibility. Tech offered that they were waiting for Certification of their Win7 driver and might come out end of month. Also said the device uses a TI chipset (I wanted to make sure it was not prolific).
- Cons: Will not work with Quick Basic V4.0 compiler. Same program works with a Cables-to-go prolific adapter (with XP driver as win7 driver has bug). On Keyspan, the blinking light will not go solid when opening the com port in Quick Basic. (Will open with FreeBasic, but no good for my app.) Called Keyspan and got no help. I was told if the adapter works with something else, then, it just is not compatible with QuickBasic. Even running the "immediate" mode of QuickBasic, opening com2 does nothing. That's it. I will send in an email to see if I can get help.
- Other Thoughts: I'm running Windows 7 home-32 bit. Using the vista drivers from keyspan. Keyspan says they are close to a win7 driver release, but will not offer a chance to try a beta to see if that will fix the problem. Guess I am stuck with the useless Keyspan since Newegg does not take a return...unless the win7 driver will fix the issue. But, my guess is there won't be much difference between vista and win7 drivers. I've used QuickBasic in this exact application for 15 years with DOS, Win95, win98, WinXP, and now Win7 starting with 386 hardware. The prolific chipset is at least functional so I guess I'll scrap Keyspan for now.
